A huge akameitakianga to all our family members that attended our meeting in Auckland NZ last night. We are on the roll family. Here’s a sneak peek of the outcome. Te ohi nei to tatou Vaka Kopu Tangata I Aotearoa nei. Our proposal to host our Family Reunion in February 2026 is going ahead and we are humbled and grateful for the blessings of our Matua papakari here in NZ. Ko te akamataanga teia. Our Ellis family NZ update. Our Family Heads remain as Papa George Thomas Ellis of Tokoroa and Papa Otikore Joseph of Auckland. These are 2 of our Elders whom have been supporting our family moves and projects pre Covid time. We also remember and reflected on our Papa Mahuta Ripata and Papa Kaina Ripata. Two of our humble matua who have always shown huge interest in our moves as Family here in Auckland. Noaatu e kua moe raua. Ka akamahara ua rai tatou ia raua e ratou Tei takake❤️❤️.

Congratulations to our Ellis Family NZ Leads (Co-Chairs) Urama Samatona Toroma and Margaret Ioane Kaitara. These two have had a good number of years of research into our family history and some awesome stories have been shared by them in many of our past meetings. Te anoano iaatu nei ta tatou support no raua i teia tuatau no teia 2025-2026. God bless you both.

UPDATE:
Kia Orana Family! The next Reunion is confirmed for Auckland, New Zealand; 5-6-7 February 2025. Please keep an eye out for updates from our NZ Organising Committee: fees; account details for fees payment; accommodation options; final venue; programme; and more.

Kia Orana Family! Happy New Year to you all! We (Papa George F Ellis & Papa Temu Okotai & Rohan Ellis) have held our first meeting to discuss our next Ellis Reunion. We would like to give you options below and we ask you all to choose your preferred options by commenting. We will run with the majority selections to ensure we have an inclusive fantastic Ellis Reunion.

1. Preferred Year: Feb 2026 or Feb 2027 or Feb 2028
2. Preferred Venue: Tahiti or Rarotonga or Auckland
3. Preferred # of Days: 1 Day or 2 Days or 3 Days

When you comment: YEAR / VENUE / # OF DAYS

**Feb is chosen since it is low season, airfares are discounted, hotels are discounted, etc**

The preferred venue will require a Working Committee to organise, run around, setup, contract, and get things done for the Reunion. The Rarotonga committee is already setup and ready to roll if Rarotonga is chosen. However, we open the preferred venue up to you all, BUT understand that a strong Working Committee will be required if you all choose Tahiti or Auckland.

Thank you, Rohan Ellis - Secretary of the Cook Islands (Rarotonga) Reunion Committee.

**Please share this information to our family members around you**

Kia Orana Family, we have lost a family icon, Mama Miera Trego-Tapaitau has passed away. Her immediate family are finalising arrangements for her funeral. Many family members have asked us to set aside a time for a private family service at her residence in Matavera. Are you all keen on this? or would you prefer to visit her in your own time? Please advise so we can work out arrangements. Thank you.
