Hey Fam 👋

Guess what🤔 it's Friday and it's campaign Day💪

The Reconciliation and Development Association -RADA in collaboration with the Coalition for the Promotion of Healthy Diets in Cameroon is currently running the campaign.

Do you know what Ultra-processed Products are?

These are foods that are ready to eat/drink that have excessive amounts of sugar, salt, calories, saturated fats, or trans fats.

Ultra-processed products include sweet drinks fast-packaged foods, biscuits, salty snacks, fatty foods like margarine, and processed meat, etc.

Are they healthy? NO and YES we consume them all the time. In Cameroon, 9500 annual deaths are closely associated with the consumption of these products.

We want consumers and individuals to stop or significantly reduce the consumption of Ultra-processed products.

Happy , let's engage here:https://recdev.org/resources-and-actions-for-taxsbs-and-upps/

"What If True Inclusion Means Meeting People Where They Are?"

What does true inclusion look like?

For us, it meant going uphill, into our grassroots, to sit, listen, and learn from the Fulani faithfuls. because meaningful change starts where real conversations happen.

As part of our March Plan of Action under the Shautkat Khanum Student Overseas Ambassadors Program via , our vibrant squad of young doctors, nurses, microbiologists, and medical lab science technicians came together for something truly special.

The engagement? Heartfelt.
The participation? Beautiful.
The conversations? Unforgettable.

We shared wellness tips for Ramadan, discussed cancer prevention and early detection, and most importantly.we listened. The stories they shared about loved ones lost to cancer were raw and real. It was a reminder that awareness isn't just about facts; it's about people, families, and entire communities.

But here’s the best part: they left empowered. They walked away ready to pass on life-saving knowledge to their loved ones.

One community at a time, one conversation at a time.

We have come again !!!! 😀

Let’s Talk about Va**ng and Your Health.

We know you’ve heard the talk "Va**ng is better than smoking," "It’s just flavored air," or "Everyone is doing it."

Maybe you’ve even tried it.

Maybe it feels like a harmless escape, a trend, or even a way to fit in.

But let’s pause for a moment and have a real conversation.

The truth is, behind the sleek design, fruity flavors, and cool smoke tricks, there’s a reality many don’t talk about.

Va**ng and e-cigarettes are not just "harmless fun." They carry silent dangers, ones that don’t always show up immediately but leave lasting marks.

What They Don’t Tell You

E-cigarettes contain ni****ne, heavy metals, and toxic substances that damage your lungs and heart. What starts as “just one puff” can create an addiction before you even realize it.

Your health is priceless Studies now link va**ng to long-term lung diseases and even an increased risk of .

The cells that fight for you every day keeping your body strong and thriving are quietly being weakened.

You Deserve Better

We’re not here to judge you. We’re here because we care. Because your dreams, your laughter, your presence in this world matter too much to be compromised by something designed to keep you hooked.

If you’ve never vaped, hold on to that power. If you’re already in it, know that you’re not alone, and it’s never too late to take back control.

Talk to someone, seek support, and make choices that honor the amazing person you are.

You are worth more than a momentary trend.

Your future is too bright to be clouded by smoke.

Choose health. Choose life. Choose you.

Cancer is a silent but very crucial crisis in many Sub-saharan African countries.

This isn’t just sad it’s unfair.

We need:

🎯 More awareness – If people know the signs, they seek help earlier.

🎯 Affordable healthcare – No one should have to choose between treatment and feeding their family.

🎯 Youth action – We can push for better policies, funding, and access to care.

The truth? We can’t fix what we don’t talk about.

So let’s start talking. Let’s start acting.

What do you think is the biggest challenge in cancer care for low-income communities? Drop your thoughts below.👇

Not Everyone Gets a Fair Chance

I won’t be massaging your ego if I told you

There are Inequalities in Cancer Care.

The question is:

Why Does Where You Live Decide If You Survive?

📌 Some get top-notch hospitals, specialists, and treatments.

📌 Others struggle with no nearby hospitals, no money, and no options

For instance, an anonymous experience of a victim recounted by a witness, who fought for her life, but the system failed her.

The disease had spread throughout her body, weakening her every day. She spent weeks in the hospital, but with no improvement.

Sometimes, she couldn’t afford treatment, and her condition worsened. Her breast continued to deteriorate, causing unbearable pain.

She fought until she had nothing left to give. She lost her life not just to cancer, but to inequality.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate, but the system does.

What can we do to change that? Drop your thoughts.

I Think It’s Good We All Know This…

"People-Centered Care"

Ever heard of anything 🤔 as such?

What does that even mean? 🤔 🤔

Let’s break it down.

The truth is Cancer isn’t just about treatments, hospitals, or medicine.

It’s about

how they feel, how they’re treated, and who stands by them.

For instance, we spoke with a survivor who said during her diagnosis and treatment she was very depressed, isolated, ignored and alone.

She was facing death watching herself slowly transition to the after life.

A similar story was noted by one of our Team members while on clinical placement in a Treatment Center, he witnessed a young person undergoing chemotherapy for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. All his friends and classmates left him without a word and that traumatized him the more.

This are sad realities.

What then can We do?

This is where we come in.

People-Centered Care means putting the person first not just their illness. And as youth, we have a big role to play:

🎯Being there: A simple “How are you?” can mean everything.

🎯 Keeping it real: Don’t treat them differently. They’re still the same person.

The truth? No one should feel invisible in their hardest moments.
People-Centered Care isn’t just for doctors it’s for all of us.

It's about
It's about
It's about

So, if someone you know is going through this, how will you show up? Let’s not just think about it. Let’s act.
