Vaso-occlusive crisis (VOC) causes acute pain in people with Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA) due to the obstruction of blood vessels by sickle-shaped red blood cells, leading to reduced blood flow and inflammation. NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are recommended for managing VOC pain, as per the American Society of Hematologist (ASH). NSAIDs can be used with opioids, either IV or orally, for 5-7 days in both adults and children. Non-selective NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Diclofenac) are preferred over selective ones (Celecoxib), but healthcare providers must monitor for side effects, such as gastrointestinal damage, renal toxicity, abnormal bleeding, and liver toxicity. NSAIDs are unsafe in late pregnancy due to the risk of cardiac malformations in the baby.

HUMDIF informe la communauté de l'épidémie en cours de Mpox en Afrique. Mpox, une maladie virale, présente des symptômes tels que la fièvre, les maux de tête, les douleurs musculaires et une éruption cutanée. Elle se propage par contact avec des personnes ou des animaux infectés, ainsi que des surfaces contaminées. Pour prévenir sa propagation, pratiquez une bonne hygiène, évitez tout contact étroit avec les personnes infectées et désinfectez les surfaces. HUMDIF lancera bientôt une campagne de vaccination pour protéger les groupes à haut risque. Restez informé, suivez les mesures de prévention et préparez-vous à la vaccination pour protéger notre communauté.
