Reflecting on our last scientific meeting, where Dr. Gwanyama Noella, our esteemed colleague at the Regional hospital and founder of Talk Pregnancy with Dr Noella, championed a session on Preconception Care, she enlightened us on the new Preconception Care Risk Assessment Tool, designed to strengthen routine preconception care services and ultimately reduce maternal and neonatal deaths.

𝗔 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: Preconception care isn't just for expectant parents or those planning a pregnancy - it's for EVERYBODY! Whether you're married, single, or anywhere in between, preconception care is essential for optimizing your health and well-being before pregnancy.

By assessing these risks, individuals and couples can take proactive steps to ensure a healthier pregnancy and outcome.

Three little bundles of Joy 🤩

Meet Fulanue Ajara, the proud mother of triplets, who gave birth to her three precious babies at our hospital on August 22nd.

As farmers, Fulanue and her husband have always worked hard to provide for their family, but the arrival of their triplets has brought both joy and new challenges.

In this video, Fulanue shares her story and her hopes/fears for the future of her children.

Let's hear from her directly.

😭 Then Nightfall came 😭

Today, the hospital family came together to bid a final farewell to our beloved colleague, FRU NGUM LETICIA, a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist. The massive turnout by our staff at her burial was a testament to the impact she had on each of us.

We were touched by the heartfelt words from our Medical Adviser, Dr. Angwafor Samuel, representing the Director, who spoke about her dedication, calm demeanor, and respect for hierarchy. Her legacy will live on through us, and we take comfort in the memories we shared with her.

Our deepest condolences go out to her family during this difficult time. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.

Empowering Lives Through Prosthetics 🌟

We're thrilled to share the inspiring story of Mbih Praise, a 15-year-old student who defied odds.🌈

After a car accident in Gabon last year on August 5, Praise lost her right leg from the knee. But she didn't let that define her. Recently, she visited our hospital and tried out a prosthetic leg, and we're thrilled to see her thriving. 💪

Prosthetics: Empowering Lives! 🌈

A prosthesis is an artificial device that replaces or supports a missing or damaged body part. Our hospital produces various types of prosthetics, including:

- Transtibial (below-knee) prosthesis
- Transfemoral (above-knee) prosthesis
- Partial foot prosthesis
- Ankle prosthesis
- Through-knee prosthesis
- Hip articulation prosthesis

These prosthetics can:

- Improve mobility and gaiting capacity
- Reduce disability and handicap
- Enhance independence and confidence
- Alleviate pain and improve overall well-being

The Benefits of Prosthetics 🌟

- Improved mobility: Enables patients to walk, run, or engage in daily activities.
- Enhanced independence: Allows patients to perform tasks without relying on others.
- Pain reduction: Can alleviate pain associated with damaged or missing limbs.
- Improved appearance: Restores confidence and self-esteem.
- Increased functionality: Enables patients to participate in various activities.
- Better quality of life: Enhances overall well-being and participation in life.

We're Proud of Praise's Progress 🌟

Praise's determination and resilience are truly inspiring. We're honored to be part of her journey and look forward to seeing her continue to thrive! 💪

Hepatitis Awareness: Let's Talk About It!

Recently, our Hepatitis Committee members conducted informative talks at various entry points of our hospital, spreading awareness about Hepatitis and how to prevent it. Let's dive into the details! 🌟

What is Hepatitis? 🤔

Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver, often caused by viral infections. There are five main types of hepatitis viruses: A, B, C, D, and E. Each type has different transmission modes and consequences.

Transmission Modes 🚨

- Hepatitis A and E: Usually spread through contaminated food, water, or poor sanitation.
- Hepatitis B and C: Primarily spread through bodily fluids, such as blood, semen, and vaginal fluids.
- Hepatitis D: Can only infect people who are already infected with Hepatitis B.

Prevention is Key 🛡️

- Practice good hygiene: Wash hands frequently, especially after using the bathroom or before eating.
- Get vaccinated: Vaccines are available for Hepatitis A and B.
- Use protection: Use condoms during s*x to reduce the risk of transmission.
- Avoid sharing: Don't share needles, razors, or personal items that may have come into contact with infected bodily fluids.

Test Results 📝

- If you're tested negative: Get vaccinated to protect yourself! 💉
- If you're tested positive: See a doctor to begin treatment and prevent further liver damage. 💊

Let's Take Action! 💪

By understanding Hepatitis and taking preventive measures, we can reduce the risk of transmission and promote liver health. Let's work together to create a healthier community! 🌈
