The Bartholin's glands are located on each side of the va**nal opening. These glands secrete fluid that helps lubricate the va**na.

Sometimes the openings of these glands become obstructed, causing fluid to back up into the gland. The result is relatively painless swelling called a Bartholin's cyst. If the fluid within the cyst becomes infected, you may develop a collection of pus surrounded by inflamed tissue (abscess).

*What causes gonorrhea?*

You get an infection when the bacteria that causes gonorrhea (N. gonorrhoeae) enters your body through s*xual fluids, like semen or va**nal fluid — often through unprotected s*x. The bacteria can enter your body through a p***s, va**na, mouth.

*Gonorrhea symptoms in all genders*

People of all genders can also get gonorrhea infections in the throat (through oral s*x on the ge****ls). General science and symptoms include;

*Infertility in both men and women.
*Painful urination and swelling of the testicles in men.
*Itchy and Yellowish va**nal discharge in women.
*Increased risk of ectopic pregnancy and infertility in women.
*Pelvic inflammatory disease (infection of the female reproductive organs).

*"How can I prevent gonorrhea?*

The only way to prevent gonorrhea is not to have s*x. For many people, a more realistic goal is to reduce the risk of contracting and spreading gonorrhea. Take these steps to reduce your risk:

*Know someone's health status before having s*x with them.
*Don't have s*x with multiple partners.
*Don’t have s*x with someone who has an active infection.
*Don’t have s*x with someone who has gonorrhea symptoms."

*How can I take care of myself?***

If you are s*xually active and considered high risk for gonorrhea, consider regular STI testing. Since many STIs, including gonorrhea, don’t cause symptoms, you could have an infection and pass it onto others without knowing it. Untreated gonorrhea can also cause complications that you can avoid with regular testing and prompt treatment.
