It is important to note that today's medicine is founded on traditional medicine. Unfortunately due to the tragic history of Africa, traditional medicine has lost it's value amongst the african people. This is due to the fact that knowledge once possessed was destroyed and african spirituality suppressed. Events like the one portrayed below, seek to revamp cameroonian traditional medicine by allowing those who are spiritually gifted to showcase their findings. At such events, modern technology is used to test presented medicines ( test whether it works for its intended purpose) and to validate those who indeed are traditional healers ( Magni-Si.

Traditional music is very important during rituals, it is the rhythm to which our ancestors dance to. Our dialect - our language - is that which they responds the most to.

After gifting the sacred ground with what they require. It is important to close this ritual with a celebration known to us as "salaka". This celebration is a communion between the people who live around the sacred ground and yourself. It calls for sharing of goods (preferably something edible) while dancing to traditional music. This is very symbolic as it portrays the coming together of families to share in joy, food brought by you. It portrays the beginning of the healing process as people come together and for that moment only focus on the joy of the moment. To share is to receive in abundance.

This is an image of me, honoring a sacred ground. When called to honor a sacred ground, the culture requires that the following be gifted to the sacred place:
- sel
- jujubes
- cola
- l'huile rouge
- vin blanc
- vin rouge de Candia
- le gateau de mais
- le pistage de calebasse
- l'haricot du village
- le boum blanc
- la cajoux

This list might vary as the sacred ground may request for specific items ( some not covered in the list).

Honoring sacred grounds is honoring our own lineage. It is important to show gratefulness to those of our lineage who walked the path before us. Such honoring helps heal generational trauma and helps open doors for more blessings.

Honoring a sacred ground is like reconciling with the old. In order to move forward in life we must reconcile with history ( by acknowledging its existence) so we can learn and grow through the knowledge it imparts.
