World Immunization Month: A Call to Action for Africa

Despite having the world's second-largest population, Africa records the lowest vaccination rates.

Each year, over 30 million children under five suffer from vaccine-preventable diseases like diphtheria, rubella, pneumonia, hepatitis B, HPV, measles, mumps, and tetanus - More than half a million of these children die, making up 58% of global VPD-related deaths (World Health Organization, 2023).

This crisis stems primarily from inadequate resources related to vaccine production and storage, among other challenges (religious beliefs, fear, illiteracy,...).

Let's commit to improving vaccine access and education across Africa to protect humanity and secure a healthier future.

Among the so many critical problems facing Africa countries especially those in sub-Saharan, is the lagging healthcare. According to the WHO in 2022, Africa accounted for 94% of malaria cases (233 million) and 95% (580 000) of malaria deaths. Children under 5 accounted for about 80% of all malaria deaths.

Most of the African in the diapora who get in touch with us will at some point ask us the question: what can we do to help? It is our own judgement that a large percentage of Africans in the diapora will like to add value to their communities back home beyond their immediate family. We aren't just making thing easier for them to do so.
