GHSS CQI Team on the Field 🚀

The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team of Global Health Systems Solutions recently carried out monitoring visits across regions implementing the Empowering Youths in Cameroon initiative.

Through field visits, focus group discussions, and feedback collection at VET centres, MSEs, and CIGs, the team assessed participant progress in the Education & Economic Empowerment Project (EEE-P).

Key insights pointed to the need for stronger mentoring, improved documentation, and earlier business planning. This mission reinforces our commitment to adaptive learning and evidence-based decision-making in advancing youth empowerment across Cameroon. 🌍✨

VET Program Graduates Ready to Thrive! 🎓 🎉

Participants of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) program have completed a six-month course under the Education and Economic Empowerment Project (EEEP) led by GHSS!

They gained hands-on skills in word processing, graphic design, and computer maintenance—and GHSS supported them every step of the way with training fees, monthly stipends, and startup kits.

At the attestation ceremony, graduates shared their excitement and confidence to move forward with purpose and opportunity.

🧪 Strengthening Laboratory Quality Assurance Across Cameroon! 🇨🇲

From June 10th to 20th, 2025, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in partnership with Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS), successfully conducted a nationwide training on Laboratory Quality Assurance across 8 regions in Cameroon.

This impactful training focused on:
✅ HIV Rapid Testing
✅ The National 3-Test HIV Testing Algorithm
✅ External Quality Assessment (EQA)
✅ Stepwise Process for Improving HIV Rapid & Recency Testing

By empowering HTS providers with these essential tools and knowledge, we’re paving the way for standardized and reliable HIV testing across the country.

GHSS Empowers Youth Across Regions with Employability Skills Training! 💼📱

As part of the Education and Economic Empowerment Project (EEE-P), GHSS has conducted Employability Skills Training (EST) workshops across all implementation regions!

These workshops equip young people with job application tips, career guidance, and tools to thrive professionally. To boost access to essential services and learning, smartphones were distributed to participants — connecting them to health info, digital finance, and psychosocial support. 💡📲

This initiative, funded by The MasterCard Foundation, reflects GHSS’s commitment to youth empowerment through education, vocational skills, and entrepreneurship.

GHSS Advances Gender Inclusiveness and Youth Employability in Second Workshop ♀️♂️

On May 28 in Douala, Global Health Systems Solutions (GHSS) held its second workshop focused on promoting gender-inclusive workplaces and improving youth employability.

The event brought together 24 participants and GHSS staff for discussions on policy reform, soft and technical skills development, and effective training strategies. Experts from partner institutions shared best practices on workplace diversity and youth resilience, while GHSS’s VET team addressed participant management.

A highlight of the workshop was hearing success stories from first-year project beneficiaries, showcasing real impact and renewed hope for the future.

This workshop deepened learning, encouraged experience-sharing, and set the stage for the upcoming third session—continuing GHSS’s mission to empower youth and drive inclusive growth.
