Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, and at IOM Cameroon, we're committed to combating it. Our comprehensive approach includes:
• Strengthening prevention measures through awareness and education
• Enhancing protection and support for trafficking survivors
• Improving prosecution processes to bring traffickers to justice

This work is crucial for achieving SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).

• Formation professionnelle : outiller les retournés avec des compétences recherchées
• Soutien aux affaires : Fournir des conseils et des ressources en entrepreneuriat
• Réintégration communautaire : Faciliter une intégration sociale

As part of the implementation of the Joint Program on Labor Migration Governance (JLMP), the final session of the capacity-building workshop for key national stakeholders was held in the city of Douala, aimed at developing a roadmap for ethical recruitment and decent work for migrant workers in Cameroon 🇨🇲.
Organized by the Ministère du Travail et de la Sécurité Sociale. Cameroun with the support of the - UN Migration in 🇨🇲, we commend the admirable commitment of the stakeholders and note encouraging results for strengthening protection mechanisms for migrant workers along recruitment corridors from departure, in transit, and to Cameroon.

☮ IOM in Cameroon works mainly in 3 areas that make up the HDP Nexus, with H for humanitarian, D for development and P for peace. It is not always easy for a community to accept migrants, particularly because of the many prejudices that surround their stories.
To remedy this, IOM intervenes through the peace component of the Nexus, helping to create a momentum for peace, unity and social cohesion.

Together, let's promote peace around us.

🏅🎉 Ce lundi 09 septembre 2024, nous avons assisté à la soutenance du Mémoire de fin de formation en sciences infirmières de l'un de nos bénéficiaires, au Centre de Formation des Sciences de la Santé de la CROIX ROUGE CAMEROUNAISE / Comité Départemental Sanaga Maritime à Yaoundé. Une preuve de plus que la réintégration des retournés n'est pas une utopie.
