21 RULES FOR AFRICA’S NEXT GENERATIONS
Whereas Africans believe in a brighter future;
Whereas intellectual development should go hand in hand with personal and mental development;
Whereas as sustainable development includes personal and mental development; and
Whereas it is time to start preparing Africa’s next generation;
We, the children of Africa agree to pass onto the next generation the following principles:
Rule 1: You are a member of a community and whatever you do should contribute to the development of both yourself and that of the community in which you live.
Rule 2: Whenever you are about to do something, always ask yourself; how is it going to affect my neighbors and my community?
Rule 3: Never do something to a person if you do not want that thing to be done to you. Always ask; how would I feel if this was done to me?
Rule 4: When you see someone who needs help, what do you do? You stop and ask him/her, may I help you? And never expect something back because giving is beautiful. Volunteerism
Rule 5: Keep your community, your city and your neighborhood clean because dirty brings sickness and pollution.
Rule 6: Always show loyalty, allegiance, and love for your school, community and country.
Rule 7: Always obey the laws and rules of your home, schools, communities and country.
Rule 8: Always respect authority and stand up against corruption in your community, in your school and in your country
Rule 9: Always accept responsibility for your actions.
Rule 10: Always admit your mistakes and make an effort to correct them because you learn from those
Rule 11: You should always be loyal to your friends.
Rule 12: You should always be trustworthy
Rule 13: Always care about your property and that of others
Rule 14: Always treat other members of your community, school, city and country fairly, with courtesy and with respect
Rule 15: Always respect and protect all living things (humans, animals, trees etc…); protect the environment
Rule 16: Always respect yourselve by staying strong and healthy
Rule 17: Always be aware of what you do to make your home, school, neighborhood, community and country a better place to live.
Rule 18: Always take the time to vote for elected officials and important issues
Rule 19: Always accept and respect other people believes and culture
Rule 20: Always respect the elderly
Rule 21: You should never discriminate against people, irrespective of their s*x, culture, or s*xual orientation
