With all the holiday festivities of the last weeks. I am sure some of the runners out there: the daily runners, the weekend warrior runners, and those prepping for marathons in spring...you missed a run or two or even a whole week.
This might add anxiety or stress with many of us thinking: "uh-oh, can I still run, how far behind am I?"
If you missed out on a run(s) this week, you can take a deep breath and just relax. Losing one week of running, won't harm your fitness. This might even help you come back faster with fresh legs!
Let your body recover this week and start fresh when you can after the multitude of festivities. Enjoy your time with family, friends, and loved ones.

Not all runs are equal!
Tempo runs and Lactate Threshold runs are terms often used interchangeably, but they can have slightly different interpretations depending on the context.
Both are aimed at improving your running endurance.

Lactate Threshold: is more aimed at improving your body to clear the lactate acid better
Tempo: is aimed at going comfortable while being uncomfortable pace for a long duration improving your endurance and mental toughness.

Fueling guidelines recommend 30-60 grams of carbohydrates for runs or races that last between 1 to 3 hours.
(30-60 grams depending on your fitness level, and running efficiency. )

So what does that look like when you take an average of 45 gr carbs per hour using the brands widely available in China.
Most of the time I read about brands available in the US or Europe, and not in China, so I did some calculations with the popular brands here.

Choosing the right energy gel is essential to prevent early bonking.
