This is a good article summarising the possible health effects of H. pylori beyond the normal symptoms that doctors talk about.
Note how H. pylori infections can improve certain conditions (in red on the diagram).
Of course, this does not mean H. pylori is good for you.
What it means is that H. pylori can have a dramatic impact on the function of your immune system.
By altering immune function, you can have any number of health outcomes from a simple H. pylori infection.
Alas, most doctors still believe that H. pylori is just the "ulcer bug," which causes a bit of heartburn and reflux here and there.
