The first batch of rare-disease drugs cleared customs at the comprehensive bonded zone of Beijing Daxing International Airport ( ) on Dec. 22, marking a new milestone in the zone's drive to build an international and gateway.

The imported drugs are used to treat cholestatic pruritus in patients aged three months and older with Alagille syndrome. Thanks to the bonded zone's smart checkpoint system, pharmaceutical companies can now complete customs clearance in a matter of seconds.

Since August, a fast-track mechanism has streamlined the entire import process, from filing and sampling to customs clearance, allowing it to be completed within 24 hours.

Local authorities said the zone will continue to improve customs services and facilitation for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, supporting the growth of the life sciences and health care industry.

Over the past year, more than 45,000 eligible travelers have entered China via Beijing Daxing International Airport ( ) under the 240-hour transit visa-free policy, which took effect on Dec. 17, 2024.

The 240-hour policy comes alongside China's broader expansion of unilateral and mutual visa-free arrangements, helping to fuel a steady rise in inbound travel. Since the beginning of this year, more than 830,000 foreign nationals have entered China through , up about 54.6% year on year.

To ensure smooth implementation of the policy, Daxing Airport border inspection authorities have worked closely with customs, the airport operator, and airlines to enhance passenger flow monitoring, improve wayfinding across the arrival process, open dedicated clearance lanes, and provide round-the-clock, one-stop services for issuing temporary entry permits.

Beijing Daxing International Airport ( ) is boosting winter travel by expanding flight options and upgrading services for ice-and-snow .

now operates 33 routes to major winter destinations across Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. Flights to Harbin run up to 24 round trips daily, while Urumqi sees up to 18, scheduled from morning to night.

As outbound winter tourism heats up, Daxing Airport has strengthened China-Russia connectivity. Eight airlines now operate routes to eight Russian cities, including and Vladivostok, with 59 weekly round trips offering more options for snow lovers.

Winter-friendly services add extra comfort. Dedicated changing rooms and quick-change facilities are available throughout the terminal, while equipment benefits from clear guidance, full-process tracking, and one-stop services for packing, storage and delivery, making easier and worry-free.

Starting Dec. 26, 2025, China Eastern Airlinesn will launch a daily nonstop service between Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Jiaxing Nanhu Airport (JNH). The new route offers a faster option for business travel, family visits, and leisure trips, linking Beijing with Jiaxing in eastern China's Zhejiang province.

The Sino-German Cross-Border Business Day was held on Wednesday in Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone ( ), co-hosted by the zone's Management Committee and the German Chamber of Commerce in China. The event brought together government agencies, industry associations, and Chinese and German companies to explore cross-border facilitation, supply chain collaboration, and industrial ecosystem development.

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Management Committee of Beijing Daxing International Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone and the German Chamber of Commerce in China, paving the way for deeper collaboration in trade, bonded exhibitions, logistics, and business incubation. The event also saw the launch of the Germany Chamber of Commerce Partnership of Supply Chain, aimed at boosting information sharing, business matchmaking, and supply-chain connectivity.

A new integrated energy project for the first phase of resettlement housing in Beijing Daxing Airport City ( ) has just been approved. It will provide heating and cooling to nearly 570,000 square meters across seven residential communities and four public facilities in Lixian Town.

Using a mix of geothermal and air-source heat pumps, chillers, gas boilers, and flue-gas heat recovery, the project maximizes renewable energy use. Schools, kindergartens and elderly care facilities in the area will run on 100% clean energy.

Once up and running, the project is expected to save 1,253 metric tons of standard coal and cut carbon missions by 3,141 metric tons every year, improving comfort for residents and supporting Daxing's transition to a cleaner, low-carbon energy system.
