Authored by the distinguished members of the IOS Working Group on Cardiometabolic Diseases, this guideline addresses a critical gap in managing complex patients. It synthesizes the latest evidence to offer structured recommendations on lifestyle modification, innovative pharmacological therapies (including GLP-1 RAs), and surgical interventions, with specific considerations for Asian populations. This work exemplifies our society's goal to Promote Research Excellence On Obesity​ and establish a collaborative global research ecosystem.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Survey 2 of 3 for our International Consensus-Seeking Initiative:

🩺 Surgical Decision-Making for Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery in Patients with Obesity

This global effort—featuring 100+ leading surgeons from over 70 countries—aims to address variation in practice and the lack of standardized guidance for abdominal wall hernia surgery in patients with obesity.
(Our next survey will focus on hiatal hernia surgery.)

💡 Why participate?

✅ Your responses will directly shape Delphi consensus statements and contribute to international guidelines.

✅ All respondents will be acknowledged as collaborative authors in the resulting publication.
