Someone with hidden depression may seem content, happy, and productive. Their work life and relationships, from all outward appearances, seem fine.

But inwardly, in quiet spaces that aren’t easily shared, depression symptoms are affecting their thoughts, feelings, and physical health. And those symptoms aren’t going away.

I am writing the below to help people understand how it effects us all personally.

So in the last few weeks life itself has been a massive struggle for myself dealing with things at home and at work and many other things in between.

The only way I can explain things is think of these things below.

It's like you have 2 Voices in head
Your always tired
You've lost all confidence in yourself
Your phone rings but you don't want to speak to anyone.
You don't want to do anything
You don't want to go anywhere
You are angry all the time
You're paranoid
Your anxiety hits the roof
It takes 3 hours to go to sleep at night
You want to hide in a corner and not come out.
You have absolutely zero motivation to do anything.

I guess we all deal with so many things in life and we're all concerned about so many other things happening around us that we just put our own things happening beside us and just don't want to deal with it until eventually we just explode.

Many ask why we don't talk about things to your friends or your wife or anyone thats close to you to get things of your chest and help unload the weight of things we sometimes carry.

Well the only way is to explain this is that most of us don't want people thinking we are a failure because it's hard to explain due to the depression we are suffering we hide so much because we don't want people around us knowing we're struggling and nor do we want to talk about it.

Why have I written this, well because I have come across so many people i know in the last few weeks that are also suffering that I honestly would have thought were doing ok and unfortunately they are also suffering the above so I thought that by putting this out there that it might possibly help people understand that little more and to say that with so many Mental Health quotes getting around about checking on your friends and popping in to say G'day well it's 100% True.

Stay strong Legends and be there for each other.

What is Depression?
Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work and at home.

Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:

*Feeling sad or having a depressed mood
*Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed
*Changes in appetite — weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting
*Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much
*Loss of energy or increased fatigue
*Increase in purposeless physical activity (e.g., inability to sit still, pacing, handwringing) or slowed movements or speech (these actions must be severe enough to be observable by others)
*Feeling worthless or guilty
*Difficulty thinking, concentrating or making decisions
*Thoughts of death or su***de
Symptoms must last at least two weeks and must represent a change in your previous level of functioning for a diagnosis of depression.

Depression affects an estimated one in 15 adults (6.7%) in any given year. And one in six people (16.6%) will experience depression at some time in their life. Depression can occur at any time, but on average, first appears during the late teens to mid-20s. Women are more likely than men to experience depression. Some studies show that one-third of women will experience a major depressive episode in their lifetime. There is a high degree of heritability (approximately 40%) when first-degree relatives (parents/children/siblings) have depression ..
