With An Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin currently in Shanghai on the Irish State Visit to China, CGTN News took the opportunity to speak with Peter Markey, our Chairperson here at the Irish Chamber of Commerce China who spoke about the relations between China and Ireland, and our shared culture. Peter also spoke about the strong relationship between Cork and Shanghai which have been sister cities for 20 years.

The Irish Chamber of Commerce China are pleased to be welcoming the Cork Delegation to Shanghai and Jiangsu Province, with our first event to be held on Sunday 16th in Suzhou to greet the Cork County Council and Cork Chamber of Commerce to China.

The following week will consist of meeting with and welcoming Cork City Council and University University College Cork. Cork City is Twinned with Shanghai, while Cork County is Twinned with Jiangsu Province.

Some photos showing a round up of our recent events and activities, including our successful Meet & Greet event where our new members were able to introduce themselves and their sectors, which was well attended! Our continued growth shows the importance of the Chamber amongst the Irish business community here in Shanghai.

Auto Shanghai, the largest auto show in China was recently held, with many of our members keen to attend. This year highlighted the growing success of China’s EV brands.

We also had a chance to meet with our friends Stuart Dunn and Eloise Zhang of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (BritCham Shanghai) at their Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse to discuss our upcoming joint event on AI.
