Strengthening Global Healthcare Collaboration: Welcoming Almoosa Health Group to Jiahui

We were pleased to welcome a senior delegation from Almoosa Health Group from Saudi Arabia to Jiahui International Hospital, led by CEO Dr. Malek Almoosa.

The visit brought together leaders from both organizations for a dynamic exchange on hospital design, operational excellence, and emerging models of care delivery. It also opened meaningful dialogue around collaboration opportunities between the healthcare ecosystems of Saudi Arabia and China.

One message stood out clearly: China is rapidly gaining momentum as a global hub for healthcare innovation.

From breakthroughs in cancer care—such as next-generation CAR-T therapies, including the world’s first CAR-T treatment for solid tumors expected to become available in China in the first half of 2026—to the growing deployment of AI in clinical practice (including radiology, where AI-supported diagnostics are enhancing accuracy and efficiency), the pace of innovation is accelerating.

Satri-cel (CT041), the world’s first solid-tumor CAR-T therapy targeting Claudin18.2, will launch in China in the first half of 2026 and be available at Jiahui International Cancer Center in Shanghai.

It treats Claudin18.2‑positive advanced gastric and gastroesophageal cancer after at least 2 prior lines. Trials show ORR ~41%, median PFS ~4.7 months vs. 1.7 months with standard care. This personalized immune therapy reprograms a patient’s T cells to precisely attack cancer, addressing unmet need for late‑line patients with limited options. Eligibility requires biomarker testing and specialist evaluation.

On March 6, 2026, Jiahui Health and launched the 2026 Spring Jiahui Health × NYU Shanghai Medical Mentorship Program, a pilot partnership, supported by the Shanghai Nature and Health Foundation, that brings together a multinational cohort of NYU Shanghai pre‑health students (from China, the U.S., Kazakhstan, the Philippines and beyond) with Jiahui’s physician mentors. The program combines hands‑on volunteer service, immersive clinical practice, and academic guidance to inspire students, build professional skills, and help shape compassionate, globally minded physicians of the future.
The program’s first phase offers practice‑focused learning in family medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and dentistry, giving students direct, hands‑on experience in core clinical settings. During the 3‑month pilot, the cohort will complete departmental rotations and volunteer work. Learning outcomes will be assessed to refine the model and expand Jiahui–NYU Shanghai collaboration in global medical training. We look forward to nurturing the next generation of compassionate, skilled clinicians and to expanding shared opportunities in global medical education.
