🌟 [Positive Discipline Advanced Workshop Day2 Wonderful Review | A Journey of Metamorphosis from Theory to Practice] 🌟
On June 8, Longgang District Institute of Education and Science continued to heat up! Ms. Shirley Zheng led the backbone teachers of 30 primary and secondary schools to delve into the core techniques of Positive Discipline and started a journey of educational practice that touched their hearts. Today's program allows teachers to move from "knowing" to "doing"!
✨ Sharing last night's practice
Early in the morning, teachers enthusiastically shared the results of last night's practice:
"Using empathic sentences to resolve my daughter's homework conflict!"
"After trying the ‘I Sentence’, the student actually took the initiative to apologize!"
These vivid examples prove: positive discipline tools really do make an immediate impact!
🧠 The Brain in the Palm and 3A Emotional Management
Ms. Shuli uses a vivid hand model to visually demonstrate the "lid-open" state of the brain during emotional outbursts. In the "Anger and 3A" session (Acknowledge, Allow, Alternatives), teachers learned how to keep their sanity in emotional storms and be the masters of their emotions instead of slaves.
👧 "I am my child" role experience
"Hello, my name is Ming and I am 8 years old. My mom is a teacher and she always leaves patience to her students..." This mind-blowing role-play allowed teachers to truly stand in the child's shoes and feel those unmet needs and inner cries. Many teachers were in tears as they shared.
📊 In-depth Analysis of the Error Purpose List
Breakout group discussions brought the course to a climax! Four groups of teachers explored the beliefs behind the four wrong purposes of "attention-seeking," "power struggle," "revenge," and "self-loathing" and designed targeted coping strategies. “Behind every misbehavior is an unmet need.”
🌻 Encouragement vs. Praise Experiment
Through the comparison exercise, teachers came to the realization:
"It turns out I used to give mostly praise instead of encouragement!"
"Encouraging language really builds children's intrinsic motivation!"
Ms. Shuli emphasized, "Praise is like candy, encouragement is the spiritual staple."
💡 Student Growth Testimonials
"The biggest takeaway from today was learning to deal with emotions before solving problems."
"The Mistaken Purpose Sheet allowed me to read the behavioral code of the ‘problem students’ in my class."
"Tomorrow it's time to rebuild the classroom climate with words of encouragement!"
🎯 Education Golden Sentence Birth Moment
Improvisation by a classroom teacher from an elementary school in Bantian:
"Indifference and violence are really scary,
Parents' words and actions have a great impact.
Experiencing the activity is more real,
The activity ends with a visit to everyone.
Positive language is good for expression.
Respect, trust and inspiration.
Careful thinking promotes competence.
Concrete operation produces flowers."
🌈 The Awakening of Educators
The two-day workshop ended with a round of applause, but the teachers' practice has just begun. As Ms. Shuli said, "Change is a process, but every small shift will create ripples in a child's life."
📢 Continuous Growth Plan
LGEA will continue to follow up on teachers' practice and organize online case studies, so that Positive Discipline can truly take root on LG campuses and in the community!
🌱 Education is the business of life influencing life. Let's join hands, with professionalism and love, to create a better environment for Longgang students to grow up! ✨
