【Can I Avoid Kidney Failure with IgA Nephropathy?】
Question: My aunt 22 year old has suffered from IgA nephropathy since the year 2012. Now her creatinine level is 3.2mg/dl. Will it develop into Renal failure? Is there any effective treatment?
Answer: High creatinine reflects that her kidney function has been damaged. IgA nephropathy is an immune disorder that manifests repeated blood in urine. Without effective and prompt treatment, the disease can develop into the end stage of kidney disease. However, there is no effective western medicine that can remove the immune complex. We have to treat the disease from the root cause. Our Immunotherapy aims at eliminating immune complexes, recovering kidney function and adjusting immune system.
Pay attention to the diet at the same time. Low-protein with high quality, low-sodium diet, high vitamins (except for vitamin A) are some good choices for IgA Nephropathy patients. The daily intake of sodium for IgA Nephropathy patients should be controlled into 2-3g.
High-quality protein includes milk, eggs, lean meat, fish and chicken. The intake of protein should be limited into 1-1.5g/kg; if your kidney function is damaged severely, then the amount should be controlled into 0.6-0.8g/kg. Foods should be avoided by IgA Nephropathy patients include animal oil, seafood, beef, mutton, peppers, banana, apple, orange, lychee, spinach, hyacinth bean, bamboo shoot, etc.
