The construction of the Xiamen International Expo Center Conference Center is now in the final stage. There are more than 1100 workers on this project, they are installing the electromechanical equipment and paving the floor. The progress of the project is going well with good safety and quality.

The Xiamen International Expo Center Conference Center has a total construction area of 231,100 square meters and plans to build 46 conference rooms, VIP rooms and other supporting buildings. Data shows that in 2023, Xiamen hosted a total of 152 exhibitions with a combined area of approximately 2.26 million square meters, marking a 68.2 percent year-on-year increase and a recovery to 94 percent of the 2019 level.

In 2024, the city aims to reach a total exhibition area of three million square meters.

The three major exhibition clusters have formed a balanced development exhibition industry ecosystem. The exhibition industry has brought a constant flow of people and a strong commercial presence to Xiamen, stimulating a multiplier effect for the city's cultural tourism development and various key industries.

The 2023 China Sport Show attracted a record of over 100,000 attendees, while the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) attracted nearly 80,000 domestic and foreign participants from 106 countries and regions.

In 2023, the city hosted a total of 4,383 conferences attended by 810,000 people, a 155.3 percent year-on-year increase. This generated approximately 28.7 billion yuan ($3.98 billion) in economic benefits, an 85.4 percent increase from the previous year.

Exhibition events not only gather information and people, but also attract projects. Each session of the CIFIT attracts a large number of investors and companies from around the world to Xiamen.

In 2023, agreements for cooperation projects with a total investment of 484.57 billion yuan were reached at the fair, bringing a wealth of investment and cooperation opportunities to the city.

The event runs from November 1 to November 4 and sees nominees compete for Golden Roosters in 20 categories, according to the event's press release.

The Cross-Strait Book Fair wrapped up in Xiamen at the Xiamen Fliport Convention and Exhibition Center. The fair had some parallel venues, including the Xiamen International Book Center, and Xiamen Xinhua Bookstore.

The exhibition area for this year's event spanned 20,000 square meters. The main venue occupied 11,000 square meters at the Xiamen Fliport Convention and Exhibition Center.

The event included books from 387 publishing organizations, including 116 Taiwanese publishing organizations. Exhibitors displayed 115,000 books with an estimated total value exceeding 33 million RMB.

These photos show the center roof of the newly built part of Xiamen North Railway Station on the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway in Xiamen, southeast China's Fujian Province.

The newly built part of Xiamen North Railway Station, with a construction area of 250,000 square meters, is located on the north side of the current Xiamen North Railway Station.

After the completion of the newly built part, the Xiamen North Railway Station will have 13 platforms and 27 rail tracks in total, with an annual passenger volume of 50 million.

The new Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is the country's first cross-sea high-speed railway. With a designed speed of 350 km per hour and eight stations along the route, it is expected to slash the travel time between the two cities to just one hour.

XIAMEN, July 6 (Xinhua) -- China's Xiamen Airlines on Thursday launched a direct flight linking Xiamen, a coastal city in east China, with Paris, France.

The flight, the 12th intercontinental air route of Xiamen Airlines, is operated once a week, on Thursdays, according to the company.

The outbound flight is scheduled to take off from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport at 0:05 a.m. on Thursday, arriving in Paris at around 6:40 a.m. (local time). The return flight leaves Paris at 11:55 a.m. (local time) and arrives in Xiamen at around 6 a.m.

The opening of the direct air route will facilitate economic and trade exchanges and tourism between the two cities, the company said.

The 2023 China (Xiamen) International Cross-Border E-commerce Exhibition took place from June 15th to 17th at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center.

With an exhibition area of over 60,000 square meters and more than 2,000 international standard booths, the exhibition featured the Cross-Border Product Selection Zone, Cross-Border Platforms and Integrated Service Providers Zone, and Cross-Border Import Zone (International Zone).

The exhibition has covered the entire cross-border e-commerce industry chain and showcased over 50 characteristic industrial belts from across the country and over 2,000 high-quality suppliers.
