Acknowledging the complexities arising from a divided global environment & underscoring the critical role of the Pandemic Agreement in overcoming obstacles, leveraging collective strengths, and achieving an indispensable objective of mutual benefit to the international community – Health for All!
High-level Member States representatives and Civil Society organizations will take stock of the progress made so far, highlight how the Pandemic Agreement is a foundation for growth, provide key recommendations intended to facilitate progress and answer questions and concerns raised by Member States.

The event aims to encourage Member States to reaffirm their commitment to global health, multilateralism and prevention of disease outbreaks at source via One Health by working swiftly towards a successful negotiation of the Pandemic Agreement until April 11th so that the final agreement can be tabled at the World Health Assembly.

The Pandemic Agreement represents a historic international and legally binding commitment to pandemic prevention, preparedness and response via One Health and will serve as a solid foundation to further strengthen pandemic prevention measures.

📌 The WVA and Ceva Santé Animale are happy to announce that the call for nominations for the WVA Global Veterinary Awards of 2025 is now open!

🎖 WVA calls out to its members around the world for nominations for the categories of One Health, Medicines Stewardship, Animal Welfare and Veterinary Education (the link to nominate is sent directly to the WVA members).
The Veterinarian of the Year 2025 will be chosen out of the winners of these categories.
To nominate to the category of Veterinary Student of the Year reach out to International Veterinary Students' Association (IVSA)

🪙 The WVA Global Veterinary Awards comprise 6 awards of 5000 Euros to recognise four veterinarians and one veterinary student for their work towards animal owners, governments, health authorities, farmers, other veterinarians, and the public.
The award winners will be announced between April and July of 2025 and the awards ceremony will take place during in Washington DC, US, in July of 2025, where the ‘Veterinarian of the Year’ will also be announced.

WHO Human-Animal Interface team launches course on the WHO Academy website

One Health: Basics of multisectoral collaboration at the human-animal-environment interface course
The WHO Academy was inaugurated, in Lyon, France on 17 December 2024, with aims to provide online and in person access to free quality learning. Designed for professionals in human health, animal health, and environmental sectors, this 6-module One Health Basics course empowers participants with the skills to implement multisectoral activities for managing shared health threats, including zoonotic diseases.
