“Scrying” is a less-commonly used term for a kind of Divination. If you’ve ever read cards 🃏 -including tarot, oracle, and cartomancy-, read palms, or flipped through a book to let the universe guide you to a reading… you’ve used divination! It’s something anyone can do, especially with practice.

🔮 Scrying means to divine off of a reflective surface - crystal balls, glass, water!

🌊 Water scrying in particular has several variations with numerous items you can add into the water. At its most basic, cheapest version it is looking into a puddle or filling a bowl with tap water.

The point of water scrying is to return to our elements to see what the world and the universe has to tell us. The same way you’d read tarot for yourself to see what your future holds, we would do the same with water.

🏝️ I would love if you joined me at 1pm on 2/13 for the Virtual Festival for my Intro to Water Scrying! For the full Virtual Festival schedule, view Eternal Roots Village post. There are classes Wednesday February 11th to Friday February 13th, PLUS a few pre-recorded classes!

It is my great-grandma Margie’s birthday today. We lost her when I was 16 to cancer, but I feel she’s still here with me. I see her in the cardinals that fly by, in the cups of coffee I make on occasion. I feel her when I’m cooking, especially when I’m cooking for others, and when I randomly catch the scent of Marlboro reds when I’ve never smoked a ci******es a day in my life.

She was a matriarch not just for my family, as she took in and cared for so many in her lifetime. I aspire to live like her and to help others, she has been one of my greatest inspirations in getting into the healing and death care worlds.

I love you grandma. I miss you. And I know you would’ve loved Jackie and Oreo. 💛💜

When I watch Jahman and Jessi talk about and build and work on , it shows me a bridge between the overwhelming wellness community and the deep need for cultural preservation. They show so much respect and honor for the land they are building on, and even through the images and videos they share I feel this warmth and love emanating from my phone screen. It is an experience that touches multiple senses, not just sight. I can almost feel the earth beneath my bare feet, smell the greenery and salt water, hear the birds and frogs and wind and waves, I can almost taste the fresh air on my soft pallet. It is a feeling of being held and seen.

I have been on my own journey towards cultural preservation for the last ten plus years. Connecting deeper to my family’s Taino roots in the Carribean, watching as land is stripped away, stripped down, and treated like a “floating pile of garbage” while those very individuals choose to destroy the natural beauty of our homelands. Watching Eternal Roots Village become more and more of a reality feels like a fine thread of hope for the Caribbean. Seeing the focus on connecting, not just to the land, but to the community is an important step that I feel many unfortunately miss. It seems to be one of the main focuses here.

I hope to one day be able to see this amazing, magical place in person. To take off my shoes and my worries, take a deep breath, and feel safe and free.

I’m so excited and honored to tell you that I will be offering a class for Virtual Retreat Fundraiser!

Eternal Roots Village is located in Cahuita, Costa Rica and offers 5 acres of lush jungle where community, rituals, and nature are woven together; PLUS 9 more acres of farmland in the mountain nearby. It is described as “a jungle sanctuary in Costa Rica where ancestral wisdom and modern healing meet. A living invitation to slow down, connect, and let the land work its quiet magic. Eternal Roots Village is more than land; it is a living commitment to honoring Afro-Caribbean heritage, supporting the local community, and protecting cultural wisdom for generations to come.”

I plan to share more information about this lovely place, but for now, here is what I’m offering for the virtual retreat…. (Swipe to see!!)

🌊🔮 Water Scrying: A thorough lesson in the history of scrying and the associations of water across cultures. This class will go over common shapes and forms found in water scrying and how to read your own water bowl for divination.

This is a passion project of mine and, while not my own creation, is something I find so much love and joy in teaching. I have been water scrying since I was 14 years old and was still sneaking my magic around. I found water scrying before I found Tarot or Oracle cards, before I fully understood what magic was. I would love to show you how to use water to divine and scry, and to have you participate in the fundraising for this beautiful place called Eternal Roots Village.

Sometimes it does get to be all about you. One thing I’m taking into 2026 (because I’m not quite there right now) is main character energy. Especially in public. I’ve lived too long thinking I was a support role. I’m happy to shine at the forefront of my own life. ☀️💛☺️

I’m an hard Earth sign, but 🔥 and me go waaaayyyy back. Sometimes I think all the way back to the womb, back to when I was still just atoms floating in the universe.

Officially week 2 of the October scholarship challenge and I’m telling my guilty secret about the Wheel of the Year 😅😬

I’ve always had a hard time doing things traditionally, especially when they don’t make sense to me. This doesn’t mean that they’re wrong, just maybe not right for me. I still love learning about things that are different, learning the hows and why’s of other’s practices.

12/10/2025

My second entry for week one of the October scholarship challenge.

Big shoutout to Chrissy for reminding me what curiosity can feel like.

09/10/2025

Well now, let’s see if the description carries over now!!

I’m entering the October scholarship challenge! I sometimes find it hard to figure out what to say in videos, so this is a double challenge for me.

I’m so excited to be able to participate, and for the chance at the oppertuniry for a scholarship with Wild Essence.

This is just ONE story about transformation that I’ve experienced with Wild Essence and Jessi.
