I always find comfort from the Prayer for Peace often associated with St. Francis of Assisi. I believe whatever faith, spiritual path, or non spiritual path one follows, this prayer is universal.
In today's world, there is so much "us" versus "them”; whether from generalizations defined by political party, skin color, culture, or the spiritual path one chooses to follow. I believe that each of us has an innate seed of goodness, of love. Even the most ruthless in our society has goodness within them.
Many have lost their true identity and search instead for their identity in others; wanting to be defined by a leader or a group, while forgetting that their innate being can already choose goodness over evil, love over hate, pardon over injury. This is a choice. The answer isn't outside of you, it is already within you.
What a wonderful knowing! Knowing that you don't need to continually search, to wait for someone to tell you if you are okay, to wait for someone to tell you what to do or not to do.
Just sit, breathe. Open your heart, your mind, to what is already within you. Let this unconditional love that is waiting to be released, to let go, to heal, to restore, to love💜🫶🌈
