Yesterday I was honored to walk beside two strong women as they welcomed their babies into their arms in their own homes.
One was a lovely repeat client and one was a strong first-time mom. The doula and assisting midwives I used made up our magical birth teams and I’m grateful to them. Welcome to the world, little ones! 💜.

Happy Birthday, little one! This gorgeous girl was born at home after 6 hours of labor. Weighing in at 8 pounds she’s just so calm!
Physiological birth is easiest when we (and all mammals) feel safe which is usually in our own home environments. I love witnessing these transitions!

This client became a friend during her first pregnancy. It’s an honor being invited back to deliver her second- even though he delivered himself! Now her daughter is my little helper!
Six weeks of postpartum care is all I’m legally allowed to do here in Texas- so today she’s released as a client and, I’m glad to say, firmly back in the friend category! One of my favorite nurses and IV specialists!

I’ve always been strong and opinionated which has been…. Interesting in a world where women aren’t supposed to be those things and are most “regulated” by the disapproval of other women. Approaching 50 with a hx of a narcissistic abuse situation not only do I not care but there are days I delight in my strength, strong and unapologetic sense of self and the way I will always choose and hang on to myself and the things and people I love.
Today I’m extra-spicy and dopamine dressed for the win to celebrate my daughter’s clarinet concert tonight.

I’ve lost many friends in my past because I refused to make myself less to make them more comfortable. I don’t compete with other women- I compete against myself. Their insecurities are their own responsibility just as mine are for me.

For those who have accepted and loved me for my spiciness and are part of my “weird little heart”… you are more loved and appreciated than you know.

I won’t put up with drama, cattiness or the “mean girls” clicks and I never did. I’ve always celebrated women having their own opinions as long as they also respected mine.

To strong women everywhere:
Keep fighting for whatever makes your heart flare! And may we know them, may we be them, and may we raise them!! ❤️‍🔥

After FOUR babies in a week, plus a flat tire and my poor phone dropped down a storm gutter (at which point I may have had a small sobbing session on the curb) this is a lot of what my recovery days look like… super grateful to my friends and family who stepped up to help!
