Unfortunately, so many of us are disconnected from it nowadays.

We’re taught to ask permission for what we want to do with our health - consult someone else before our own intuitive wisdom.

As we slowly begin to reconnect with our intuitive knowledge, trusting it will become easier and easier. ✨

Your body will tell you when you need to rest, what you need for ailments (bio feedback is fascinating), and it will tell you when you do need to seek secondary guidance. 🙏🏻

I’m not anti western medicine or anti doctor - but I am pro informed consent, pro intuitive knowledge, and pro intersection of western and eastern medicine.

How do you take care of yourself on your period?

Here are 5 simple things to add to your period regime! 💫❤️

1. Rest your body - get extra sleep, stay in on a Friday night, skip the HIIT workout. Your body will thank you

2. Meditate & tap into your womb wisdom - your bleed is a sacred time. Tap into the inner knowing that is trying to communicate with you

3. Drink plenty of *mineral* rich water - why not just regular water? Because mineral rich water not only absorbs better, but contains minerals such as magnesium which will help with pms symptoms. My favorite way to make my water mineral abundant is to add Trace Minerals, these are linked in my Amazon storefront (link in bio) under supplements💫

4. Consume iron rich foods such as shellfish, red meat, & pumpkin seeds! It’s not a surprise that we lose a lot of iron during our periods. Replenish that iron by adding in iron rich foods & avoid anemia.

5. Enjoy some chocolate🍫😋 one - because you deserve it. And two - because it is rich in magnesium! Again, helping with pms symptoms.

How to have a better period —

There are many things you can do before your period to set you up for success during your period such as nutrition & castor oil packs, however, today we’re talking about things you can do during your period.

1. non toxic & non scented period panties, pads & sponges

PFA free period products are essential to avoid cramping & other pms symptoms. Periods panties & pads can be better than foreign objects in the va**na, promoting this downward movement our body naturally wants. 2. Hydrate with mineralized water

Mineralized water contains essential minerals such as magnesium. Many women are magnesium deficient, which can increase cramping. Go to the link in my bio for my Amazon Storefront, I have my favorite mineral drops linked which are a simple & easy way to remineralize your water!

3. Gentle movement

Nothing crazy! Certain yoga poses can help alleviate tension in the hips and lower back to help with pms symptoms.

4. Epsom salt bath

Great for relaxing & absorbing magnesium

5. Herbs & supplements

Herbal teas and infusions including red raspberry leaf, nettle, oatstraw & alfalfa is a good place to start! This blend of herbs has a power house of vitamins & minerals often lost during your bleed. It is high in iron!

6. Allow time to rest

This is your excuse to cancel plans you didn’t want to go to in the first place! Stay home, cuddle up with a book, bring the energy inward.

And that includes the ones you wear every day.

I feel guilty I’ve been less active on this page than my other

But I’m questioning the guilt.

& it comes down to the patriarchy.

EVERYTHING BAD ALWAYS COMES DOWN TO THE PATRIARCHY😭😭😭

I’ve been really intentional about avoiding burn out lately. Healing my body from sibo (finally) which for me I think means limiting stress & regulating my nervous system (such a buzz phrase lately but so true).

So the guilt comes from lack of capitalistic productivity.

I’ve been productive for my own well being. But just not on this page. What does that even mean?

Longish ramble to say… if you’re a woman & you are feeling guilty you’re “not being productive enough” — check yourself. What does that even mean? WHO are you being productive for? WHAT are the outcomes, good & bad?

In this new era of ditching stress & guilt at the expense of my own well being.

(But don’t get me wrong im also SO grateful for this little community I’ve created and im SO passionate about FAM & getting this knowledge out to you all. So that is also a little bit of the guilt, because this is a part of my dharma / path. But that’s why I’m being real with you all. Love you mean it. I’m still here!!! Just a little less consistent on the posting❤️)
