Utkatasana (Chair Pose)
I love saying this asana in its Sanskrit name as I make it. It has power about it.
Then I learnt what “utkata” means in Sanskrit? It means fierce, and “asana” means pose and it all made sense.
We get Chair Pose from the fact that you mimic the position of sitting in a chair. Let this pose tone your legs, and bring out your fierce side.
Tip - When you sit down as if on a chair, funny enough. ;) Place your arms out in front of you. When you are as far down as comfortable, then raise your arms up. Try it and let me know if you can raise your arms higher now.
I know this one can be killer, but it’s definitely worth it.
