1.I stopped explaining myself. When you do something this unconventional for 17 years, you get every opinion under the sun. Polistic taught me: my practice speaks for itself. I don’t owe anyone a dissertation on why this works.
2. I learned to trust my body over their judgment.People love to tell you what’s “safe” or “appropriate” for your body. But my nervous system knows more than their unsolicited advice ever will. I listen to me now, not them.
3. I embraced the weird. Pole + yoga on the ground? Yeah, people had opinions. But the more I committed to this practice, the more I realized: the people judging aren’t doing the work. Their opinions don’t pay my bills or heal my body.
4. I stopped dimming my light to make others comfortable. Polistic is powerful, transformative, and yes - empowering as hell. Some people don’t like that. I used to shrink. Now? I shine brighter and let them deal with their discomfort.
5. built something so undeniable, opinions became irrelevant. Trademarked. 52 Poses proven world wide. A teacher training program. A whole methodology. When you create something this legitimate, the noise just becomes… noise. You’re entitled to your opinion. I’m entitled to ignore the f**k out of it.
This practice gave me the spine to stand in my truth. Literally and figuratively.
