STEPUPIORS members Jelena Spasić Marija Djordjic Crnogorac Mladen Marinkovic Radmila Jankovic Milena Cavic Suzana Stojanovic-Rundic Neda Nikolic Fedja Djordjevic Milan Kocic Vladimir Jokic participated as lecturers, moderators and panelists at the Second School for digestive cancers organized by the ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology - affiliated Serbian Association of Medical Oncology (UMOS), on April 11-12, 2025, in Belgrade Serbia.

The meeting gathered clinicians and researchers from Southeast Europe and enabled constructive discussions on treatment options and future directions in the field of digestive oncology.

STEPUPIORS članovi Jelena Spasić Marija Djordjic Crnogorac Mladen Marinkovic Radmila Jankovic Milena Cavic Suzana Stojanovic-Rundic Neda Nikolic Fedja Djordjevic Milan Kocic Vladimir Jokic su učestvovali kao predavači, moderatori i panelisti na drugoj Školi za karcinome digestivnog trakta organizovanoj od strane ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology-pridruženog Udruženja medikalnih onkologa Srbije (UMOS), u periodu od 11-12, aprila 2025. godine u Beogradu.

Škola je bila koncipirana kroz osam sesija posvećenih malignitetima svih regija digestivnog trakta, uz angažovanje stručnjaka iz oblasti hirurgije, radiologije, radijacione onkologije, nuklearne medicine, internističke onkologije, patologije i molekularne dijagnostike. Kroz dvadeset šest prikaza pacijenata, i isto toliko ekspertskih predavanja, i kroz osam panel diskusija, polaznici Škole dobili su potpunu sliku o biologiji i kliničkoj slici digestivnih malignih tumora, kao i sve relevantne informacije o najsavremenijim terapijskim pristupima.

OTVORENI DAN POSVEĆEN KOLOREKTALNOM KARCINOMU

Na Institutu za onkologiju i radiologiju Srbije održaće se drugi po redu Otvoreni dan posvećen karcinomu debelog creva u organizaciji STEPUPIORS projekta.

Cilj događaja je podizanje svesti o kolorektalnom karcinomu, mogućoj naslednoj osnovi ove bolesti, prevenciji, ranoj dijagnostici i dostupnim terapijama. Skup je posvećen pre svega osobama obolelim od kolorektalnog karcinoma i članovima njihovih porodica, ali i široj zajednici koja želi da se informiše o genetičkom testiranju naslednih kancerskih sindroma povezanih sa kolorektalnim karcinomom.

Open day at IORS - focus on colore**al cancer in Serbia

The 10th Biennial Meeting of InSiGHT was organized by the International Society for Gastrointestinal Hereditary Tumors (InSiGHT) in Barcelona from June 19 to 22 this year. The meeting focused on discussing topics relevant to professionals involved in treating patients with gastrointestinal hereditary tumors. Dr. Marija Đorđić Crnogorac Marija Đorđić and Dr. Ana Damjanović Veličković Ana Damjanovic from the STEPUPIORS Stepupiors Twinning project attended the meeting. Dr. Marija presented the results of the patients from the Genetic Counseling Center of the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia in an abstract titled "Hereditary colore**al cancer - first report on mutational profile in Serbia."

U organizaciji Međunarodnog društva za gastrointestinalne nasledne tumore (InSiGHT) održan je 10. stručni sastanak, ove godine u Barseloni od 19. do 22. juna. Teme koje su obrađivane na skupu bile su namenjene naučnoj i stručnoj javnosti posvećenoj rešavanju problema u procesu lečenja pacijenata koji pripadaju ovoj specifičnoj grupi. Sastanku su prisustvovali učesnici STEPUPIORS projekta dr Marija Đorđić Crnogorac i dr Ana Damjanović Veličković. Dr Marija je predstavila rezultate pacijenata Genetičkog savetovališta Instituta za onkologiju i radiologiju Srbije u apstraktu pod nazivom - Nasledni kolorektalni kancer - prvi izveštaj mutacionog profila u Srbiji

Dr Ana Đurić Ex Mariokov and Dr Milena Cavic performed a stakeholder visit to the R&I Company CeGaT GmbH in Tubingen, Germany on May 17, 2024, alongside selected clinicians and researchers from Serbia. CeGaT staff presented their facilities and the wide range of their activities in the field of genetic diagnostics, genetic counseling and diseases diagnostics. Possibilities for collaboration in the field of translational oncology regarding sequencing services, liquid biopsy, immune cell profiling and different research and pharma solutions were also outlined.

The visit opened up new opportunities for joint project applications between the IORS and successful R&I companies with a great impact on the benefit of Serbian cancer patients.

Dr Teresa Botta-Orfila presented a collaborative abstract: "International Collaborative Biobanking: Shaping the future together" at the Europe Biobank Week Congress 2024 held in Vienna, Austria on May 14-17, 2024.

Dr Marija Đorđić Crnogorac presented a project abstract: "Identification of two novel germline MLH1 mutations in colore**al carcinoma patients: Variant interpretation in practice" and Dr Ana Krivokuca presented a lecture: "From raw data to diagnosis: how labs can confidently identify actionable somatic mutations that impact treatment or alter prognosis" at the 15th International Symposium on Variants in the Genome, held in Porto, Portugal, on May 13-15, 2024

Dr Radmila Jankovic and Dr Jelena Spasic gave lectures "Concept of molecular testing in the future; liquid biopsy" and "Preoperative immunotherapy" at the CUMO2024 Congress organized by the Montenegro Society for Medical Oncology in Budva, Montenegro on May 12-19, 2024

Dr Mladen Marinkovic gave a lecture: "Intensifying neoadjuvant treatment in locally advanced re**al cancer" at the 2nd National Oncology Congress held in Nis, Serbia on May 17-19, 2024

Aleksandra Stanojević, MSc, participated in the annual Management Committee Meeting of the COST action CA21154 - Translational control in Cancer European Network – Translacore held in Prague, Czech Republic at Milan Hašek Conference Hall.

Aleksandra gave a 15min presentation “Acquisition Mass Spectrometry Analysis of FFPE Re**al Cancer Samples Offers In-Depth Proteomics Characterization of the Response to Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy”.

The meeting aimed at integrating disciplines and knowledge across Europe to promote translational control in cancer, produced exciting debates and new collaborations.

On March 25, 2024, IORS hosted an Open Day focused on **alcancer. The event aimed to raise awareness, support affected individuals, and emphasize the importance of prevention and early detection. It featured oncology experts, medical professionals, representatives from patient associations, and a genetic counselling team. Attendees heard a patient's experience with treatment and genetic testing for hereditary syndromes, while discussions covered prevention, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of colore**al cancer.

25. marta, IORS je organizovao Dan otvorenih vrata posvećen karcinomu debelog creva. Cilj događaja bio je podizanje svesti, podrška pogođenim osobama i naglašavanje značaja prevencije i rane dijagnostike. Učestvovali su stručnjaci iz oblasti onkologije, medicinski profesionalci, predstavnici udruženja pacijenata i tim za genetsko savetovanje. Posetioci su čuli iskustvo jednog pacijenta o lečenju i genetskom testiranju za nasledne sindrome, dok su diskusije obuhvatale prevenciju, simptome, dijagnostiku, lečenje i rehabilitaciju karcinoma debelog creva.

PITAJTE SVE ŠTO VAS ZANIMA O RAKU DEBELOG CREVA

25. marta 2024. u 13h u Institutu za onkologiju i radiologiju Srbije održaće se OTVORENI DAN na temu »Rak debelog creva« na kome će naši stručnjaci pokušati da daju odgovore na sva vaša pitanja.

Razgovaraćemo o:
- kako na vreme prepoznati simptome bolesti
- kako se danas na najsavremeniji način leče pacijenti
sa rakom debelog creva
- kakva je uloga naslednog faktora u razvoju ove bolesti
- kako i kada potražiti psihološku podršku

Čućemo priču našeg pacijenta koji se lečio od raka debelog creva i koji je prošao genetičko testiranje u Genetičkom savetovalištu Instituta za onkologiju i radiologiju Srbije.

Radionica je namenjena pacijentima, članovima njihovih porodica i svima koji su zainteresovani da prošire svoje znanje o ovoj temi.
