Više o mesecu borbe protiv raka grlića materice i podizanju svesti o ovoj bolesti možete pročitati na ovom linku: https://www.iarc.who.int/news-events/iarc-marks-cervical-cancer-awareness-month-2022/ #:~:text=January%20is%20Cervical%20Cancer%20Awareness,global%20burden%20of%20cervical%20cancer

In 2020 alone, an estimated 604.000 women were diagnosed with cervical cancer worldwide and about 342. 000 women died from the disease.
Every year, the month of January is dedicated to raising awareness surrounding this very significant health issue. This year, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) highlighted three different research projects that IARC spear-heading aimed at tackling the global issue of cervical cancer.
We need to all work together to end cervical cancer as a public health problem across the world.

Until recently, studies show that various factors — such as health conditions, age, family history, diet, and lifestyle — combine to influence the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases (CVD). A more recent study from the Australian Centre for Precision Health at the University of South Australia Cancer Research Institute, discovered an additional factor that may increase a person’s likelihood of CVD: vitamin D deficiency.

A study concludes that vitamin D is vital for heart health and that it is worthwhile checking levels when assessing individuals for cardiovascular risk.

The HIV virus was initially identified in 1984 and the World AIDS Day was the first ever global health day to be established and accepted worldwide soon after, in 1988. Since then, HIV and AIDS, thanks to the immense work of the medical and scientific community, have changed from an epidemic that ravaged communities across the globe, to a disease that is manageable via pharmaceutical intervention.  On 1 December each year we all have an opportunity to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness and fight against the stigma and discrimination that remain a reality for many people living with the condition. World AIDS Day is important because it reminds the public and government that HIV has not gone away – there is still a vital need to raise money, increase awareness, fight prejudice and improve education.

Early on the pandemic, various studies cited the possibility of Vitamin D levels affecting the progress of COVID19 infections. Now, in a study designed to further explore the initial findings, researchers from Trinity College and University of Edinburgh have found that ambient UVB radiation at an individual's place of residence preceding COVID-19 infection was strongly and inversely associated with hospitalization and death.
