Hey gamers! Let's dive into the psychology of esports. In sports psychology, we often talk about three states of mind for a player:

Combat Readiness: A bit of excitement, confidence, and a fierce desire to compete. This mindset is where top-notch results are achieved.

Pre-race Fever or "Jitters": When nerves are high, and muscles are tense. Success is rare in this state, and performance usually falls below the athlete's skill level.

Apathy: Often follows the pre-race jitters, a state of burnout. This, too, leads to a decline in performance.

So, how can you always be in a state of combat readiness for crucial competitions in the esports world? 🚀

Start with a light physical warm-up to lower cortisol levels and reduce anxiety.
Then, focus on relaxing your muscles and nervous system. Try some breathing exercises.
Shift your mindset from worrying about the outcome to strategizing your gameplay.
The more you participate, the easier it becomes to prepare, develop relaxation techniques, and fine-tune your own strategies.
Remember, the mental game is as crucial as the digital one. Level up your mindset for peak performance!

🚀 Meet the Aurora Young Blood CS Team! Pioneers in innovative training, these esports enthusiasts underwent a detailed medical checkup and have followed the personalized Ctrl+Health program for the past six months.

Besides gaming, the team engages in physical activities thrice a week with Ctrl+Health trainers—pool sessions, yoga, specialized strength training, paddle tennis, and cycling. They also work with a psychologist, maintain a balanced diet, and undergo massage courses.

Ever wondered how yoga could benefit professional gamers? We asked our yoga coach, Nevena Mandic, to showcase a few fundamental yoga poses (asanas) that can be a game-changer for esports athletes. Nevena not only demonstrated these asanas but also shared insights into their specific benefits.

1️⃣ Sphinx Pose: The gentlest of backbends. Supported on your elbows and forearms, this pose explores the mobility of your spine and back muscles. Feel a front-body stretch from pelvic bones to chin, promoting an open chest.

2️⃣ Locust Pose: Stimulates abdominal organs, stretches shoulders, chest, and the entire front body. Strengthens leg muscles, glutes, and back. Relieves lower back pain and kyphosis.

🌙 Nighttime rituals for esports athletes

We all understand how crucial sleep is for reaching peak performance, but establishing the right routine can be challenging for professional gamers. Here are some sleep hygiene tips that are relatively easy to incorporate, regardless of your schedule.

⏰️ Consistent seep schedule:
Set a regular bedtime to sync your body's internal clock. Even if you go to bed late, try to do it at the same time. The wake-up time should also remain constant.

🛌 Create a comfortable sleep environment:
Keep your sleep space cool, dark, and quiet. If possible, invest in a comfortable mattress and pillows.

🚭 Caffeine & ni****ne control:
Reduce caffeine and ni****ne intake before bedtime. Yes, this includes energy drinks. Avoid consuming caffeine, ni****ne, or energy drinks at least 4 hours before sleep. This also applies to products containing caffeine (tea, chocolate, etc.). These products can cause nighttime awakenings and make sleep shallow.

📖 Tech timeout:
This might be the most challenging aspect for pro gamers. Turn off screens at least an hour before bedtime. It's also better not to use gadgets in bed. If you can't sleep, get up, turn on the light, and leave the bedroom.

🧘‍♀️ Reduce mental load before bed:
Avoid engaging in mentally taxing activities before sleep. Save important tasks and mental activities for the morning. It's recommended to finish gaming sessions at least three hours before bedtime.
