🌈👶 When Do Babies Develop Colour Vision? 🎨✨
Did you know that babies begin to see in colour much earlier than you might think? Here’s a quick overview of how your little one’s colour vision develops:
Newborn Stage: At birth, babies can only see in shades of grey. Their vision is blurry, and they are most responsive to high-contrast colours, like black and white.
Around 2-3 Months: By this age, babies start to see some colours, primarily red and green. They begin to show a preference for bright colours and patterns!
By 4-6 Months: Your baby’s colour vision becomes more refined. They can distinguish between a wider range of colours, and by 6 months, their colour perception is similar to that of an adult.
Around 1 Year: By their first birthday, babies have a fully developed colour vision system, allowing them to recognise and respond to a broad spectrum of colours.
Encouraging colour exploration through toys, books, and colourful environments can support your baby’s visual development. What colourful activities do you enjoy with your little one? Share below! 👇❤️
