Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat can be used in the therapy of muscle contractures caused by various pathological conditions such as cerebral palsy, torticollis, stroke, Dipitren's contracture, post-traumatic and brain diseases, in which a spastic form of muscle tone occurs. The goal of this method is to increase the range of motion in the joints in order to prevent the progression of joint changes and the development of major deformities. The removal of muscle contractures can significantly facilitate the physical therapy, which results in the emergence of new motor habits and the reduction of pain syndrome.

It is known that Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat has numerous advantages. In this post, we have highlighted individual segments of progress in children with cerebral palsy after the application of Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat. It is important to note that all the listed segments are the results of previous research on this topic. All this indicates that the application of Phase Fibrotomy can contribute to better development of gross motor skills and balance, less presence of pain and better sleep, which results in a better quality of life for patients

In one of the previous posts there was talk about the advantages of the Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat. When it comes to the application of various physical procedures, it is important to note that due to a removal of contractures using Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat the entire physical therapy becomes much easier. Full range of motion is achieved during the kinesitherapy exercises, which can significantly affect the overall functioning of an individual. Considering significant improvement of quality of kinesitherapy exercises after the application of Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat and therefore the following improvement of muscle quality, in certain cases there may even be an improvement in the position of the hips, which brings us to the preventive benefits of this procedure. Finally, it is important to note that everything depends on the individual capacities of each patient.

Is it allowed to use orthoses and when?
Orthoses represent an orthopedic aid that guides, supports, corrects, fixаtes a certain part of the body, but also helps or controls the function of the locomotor system. The use of orthosis after the application od Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat primarily depends on the region that was treated as well as the type of orthosis. If Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat was applied to the leg muscles, and leg support and walking itself were allowed two weeks after the intervention, the application of orthosis (like pushers) may also be advised in this interval, depending on individual capacities.

In one of the previous posts, there was talk about rehabilitation after the application of Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat. When it comes to spa rehabilitation, it can be started as early as one month after the intervention. Hydrokinesis exercises are recommended (swimming pools, tubs, local baths, Hubbard tubs, four-cell baths). The use of thermal water is preferred. On the other hand, the application of paraffin and mud is performed exclusively on joint regions (knee, elbow, hip, ankle, etc.), also one month after the application of Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat. In addition to the mentioned therapeutic procedures, occupational therapy, hippotherapy, defectological treatment and all kinds of physical procedures are recommended.

Previous studies have shown that after the Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat the following improvement can be observed: improvement of intramuscular hemodynamics, improvement of muscle tonus, increase in the range of motion in the joints, reduction in the expression of joint contractures, the appearance of new motor habits, the formation of a qualitatively new motor stereotype and the disappearance or reduction of the pain syndrome . Also, in a certain number of subjects, there may be an improvement in speech, chewing, swallowing, and then a reduction in strabismus, salivation and nystagmus. It is important to note that all the mentioned abilities differ from patient to patient, depending on their individual capacities.

As for leaning on the legs after the Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat, it is important to note that a child should not stand for two weeks (it is allowed to crawl and sit). After a period of two weeks, gradually increase the load and activities. During the period of six months, it is not allowed to jump on trampolines, inflatable mattresses etc. On the muscles, if Phased Fibrotomy by Ulzibat was applied to the muscles of the arms and neck, the patient can move and stand up immediately after the intervention.

One of the most frequent questions of patients and parents, after the application of Phase fibrotomy by Ulzibat, is "When is rehabilitation allowed and to what extent"?

The early process of re-engagement in rehabilitation procedures primarily depends on the treated region and the patient's individual abilities. Light physical exercises(passive rehabilitation) such as osteopathy can be started 14 days after the intervention, if there are no painful sensations. Swimming can be started within 10 days, while intensive rehabilitation therapy can be started one month after the intervention at the earliest.

Advantages of Phase Fibrotomy by Ulzibat are: short duration of sungery and short stay under anesthesia. Due to the specially designed scalpel, minimal traumatic operation is ensured and the skin is not cut, but only punctured. As a result, there is no suturing of the incision or immobilization after the operation. Intervention is possible on all joint muscles (muscles of arms, legs, back, neck and head). Patients can be discharged from the hospital the very next day after surgery, when they can sit and move in the bathtub without any restrictions.
