JAUNDICE IN NEW BORNS - HOW TO QUICKLY NOTICE IT

A healthy new borns skin Color at birth is usually pink. The skin color can tell you the state of the baby

If your new born has a yellowish skin Color and the palm and sole of the feet look yellowish. It could be a sign of jaundice. Report to your doctor

The stool and urine is also yellowish

It’s advisable observe your new born each day under bright light or sunlight if the room is not very bright. If you notice the eyes , the skin and palm is turning yellow, report to the hospital immediately

Complications of severe jaundice can affect the child’s brain and development.
