Just completed our third laparoscopic Whipple's procedure!

This milestone marks another step forward in minimally invasive pancreatic surgery in Cyprus. The operation was performed entirely through 5 keyhole incisions, significantly reducing patient morbidity and enhancing recovery.

We also utilized the Archimedes biodegradable pancreatic stent—an innovative device designed to reduce the risk of pancreatic leakage while eliminating the need for stent removal.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and expertise of my exceptional team. Sincere thanks to my colleagues, the OR staff and nurses at El Greco Medical Centre for their outstanding collaboration.

Special thanks to ELDO and Medelixi LTD for their trust and support in making cutting-edge technology available for our patients.

Minimally invasive Whipple surgery is becoming a new standard, and we are proud to be leading this transformation for patient - centered care.

I am excited to share our latest publication in BMJ “Left Renal Vein Transposition Using Autologous Gonadal Vein Graft in a Patient with Combined Anterior Nutcracker and May-Thurner Syndromes.” We present a novel surgical approach to managing these concurrent vascular conditions.

Our team performed a left renal vein transposition using an autologous gonadal vein graft, leading to significant symptom relief and improved quality of life for the patient.

This innovative technique offers a promising solution for patients suffering from these complex syndromes. We believe it will contribute to advancing surgical practices and improving patient outcomes in those complex vascular conditions.

A huge thank you to my co-authors for their dedication and collaboration. Well done to Theoklis Kouyialis who is a very talented and enthousiastic medical student with a bright future!
