Shepherd's purse

Delicate and elegant looking plant. 🪴
Edible and medicinal.

It has a slight mustard flavor, the young shoots can be added in sandwiches and the older ones can be cooked to flavor some dishes. 🍲

Medicinally an astringent, used to stop or to slow the flow of blood. Can be made into herbal tea, tincture or an ointment. 🌿

Due to long hours of sitting or standing, many individuals may have varicose veins,
hemorrhoids and chronic venous insufficiency at the lower part of the legs.

A lot of research has shown that the vine leaves can help with blood flow issues in the vein. 🌿
Study shows that there is a noticeable improvement after using it for 6-12 weeks.
Either internally or/and topically.
They may be used as a tincture or just simply enjoyed as a herbal tea. 🍇

Here is another plant rich in its health benefits. Rosehips, are a natural candy, sweet and tart at the same time.
Contains vitamins (C, B, E) and polyphenol. They are consumed in many different ways. They can be just dried, kept as flakes to make into tea or powdered to be added to food.
The whole fruit powdered when consumed on a regular basis has shown to decrease rheumatoid arthritis pains.
They are also made into jams or concentrates.
My favorite method, after taking out the seeds, is to mash the flesh with honey and make it into a paste, ready to consume 1 teaspoon daily.
