A woman's body goes through incredible changes. The menopausal symptoms are mainly caused by the decreased oestrogen production by the o***y and they can last for 4-5 years in most women and for a small percentage might last longer.

These symptoms are divided into 4 categories:
- Vasomotor (i.e. hot flushes)
- Psychological (i.e. mood swings)
- Psychosomatic (i.e. fatigue) and
- Urogenital (i.e. va**na dryness)

Let's separate fact from fiction!

Myth: Hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) causes breast cancer

Fact: HRT with oestrogen alone is associated with no or lower risk of breast cancer. If you take body-identical HRT, there is no increased risk of breast cancer for the first five years of taking it. Even then, the risk is so low that it is less than the risk associated with being overweight, drinking a couple of glasses of wine each night, or doing no exercise.

Nourish yourself and your baby! Ensure a healthy pregnancy by incorporating a variety of nutrient-rich foods. Focus on fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Don't forget to stay hydrated!

Most importantly, avoid smoking as it has an impact on both you and your baby during and after pregnancy. Did you know that prenatal smoking is associated with a 20% to 30% higher likelihood for stillbirth?
