I have been searching for a long time for a way to find a balance between my hectic life and my well-being, until I discovered the path of Yoga. Through Yoga I have reached a level of peacefulness with my inner self, strengthened my brain and bo

dy and above all, I have found a great way to have fun, relax and enjoy life to its full extent! I' m inspired by the YogaWorks system, which is a variation of Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga. YogaWorks is a Vinyasa-based school that teaches a method that balances precise instruction, detailed alignment, breath and fluid movement. Classes are carefully themed to deepen the students’ experience of Yoga, whilst taking their time to adjust their body to the postures (asanas). A flow of Sun Salutations and postures are skill-fully sequenced, and modifications and props (blocks- straps) are used to individualize the practice for each student. Aerial Yoga on the other hand, is a new type of yoga, originating in New York which combines the traditional yoga poses, with the use of a hammock. Aerial yoga combines acrobatic arts and anti-gravity asanas and it is also an accessible practice that can help you find more length in your spine and safe alignment in your poses. The classes are carefully themed so the practitioner will easily gain the benefits that Aerial Yoga has to offer. The hammock is being used to strengthen the muscles and find correct alignment in the poses, but also to approach with safety the more tricky-fun inversions! Είτε είστε ένας παθιασμένος Γιόγκι είτε ένας αρχάριος ασκούμενος, ελάτε μαζί μου για ένα ταξίδι όπου θα ανακαλύψετε τον εαυτό σας και θα ανανεωθείτε μέσω της Γιόγκα!

Έψαχνα για πολύ καιρό να βρω έναν τρόπο να ισορροπήσω ανάμεσα στην έντονη ζωή και την ευεξία, μέχρι που ανακάλυψα το «μονοπάτι» της γιόγκα.
Μέσα από τη γιόγκα, έφτασα σε ένα επίπεδο συμφιλίωσης με τον εαυτό μου και ενίσχυσα το μυαλό και το σώμα μου, αλλά πάνω απ 'όλα βρήκα έναν εξαιρετικό τρόπο να διασκεδάζω, να χαλαρώνω και να απολαμβάνω τη ζωή στο μέγιστο δυνατό βαθμό!

Είμαι εμπνευσμένη από το σύστημα YogaWorks, το οποίο είναι μια παραλλαγή σχολών όπως είναι η Vinyasa, η Ashtanga και η Iyengar Yoga.
Το YogaWorks είναι μία σχολή που βασίζεται στη Vinyasa και διδάσκει μια μέθοδο που εξισορροπεί τις ακριβείς οδηγίες, με την λεπτομερή ευθυγράμμιση, την αναπνοή και τη κίνηση με ροή. Τα μαθήματα είναι προσεκτικά σχεδιασμένα ώστε να εμβαθύνουν την εμπειρία των ασκούμενων με τη γιόγκα, ενώ παράλληλα τους δίδεται ο κατάλληλος χρόνος για να προσαρμόσουν το σώμα τους στις στάσεις (asanas). Οι “χαιρετισμοί στον ήλιο” και οι στάσεις της Yoga διαδέχονται επιδέξια η μία την άλλη ενώ οι παραλλαγές των στάσεων και τα στηρίγματα (blocks- straps), χρησιμοποιούνται για να δώσουν εξατομικεύσουν την πρακτική κάθε ασκούμενου.

Η AerialYoga από την άλλη, είναι ένας νέος τύπος γιόγκα, που προέρχεται από τη Νέα Υόρκη, και ο οποίος συνδυάζει τις παραδοσιακές στάσεις της γιόγκα, με τη χρήση της αιώρας.
Η AerialYoga συνδυάζει τις ακροβατικές τέχνες με τις στάσεις (asanas) οι οποίες γίνονται ενάντια στη βαρύτητα. Είναι μια προσιτή πρακτική που μπορεί να σας βοηθήσει να βρείτε περισσότερη επιμήκυνση στην σπονδυλική σας στήλη αλλά και ασφαλή ευθυγράμμιση στις στάσεις σας.
Τα μαθήματα είναι προσεκτικά σχεδιασμένα, ώστε οι ασκούμενοι να επωφεληθούν εύκολα από αυτά που τους προσφέρει η AerialYoga.
Η αιώρα χρησιμοποιείται για την ενίσχυση των μυών, για να βρει ο ασκούμενος τη σωστή ευθυγράμμιση στις στάσεις αλλά και για να προσεγγίσει με ασφάλεια τις πιο απαιτητικές- διασκεδαστικές ανάστροφες θέσεις!

Summer Stories Part 1 ⛱️
When I was a child I loved summer time.
That feeling of freedom, no school, playing outdoors, staying up late, made summer my favourite time of the year. 🌞

Growing up and getting grumpier, 😅 summer acquired a different meaning for me.
It is now a reminder for me to get closer to nature and especially sea as an islander. To practice outdoors.
To travel.
To remember again that careless feeling from my chldhood.
To connect to my body and my breath.

P.S 1: Your practice can be used as a complement to your summer activities.
If you are spending more time outside hiking, biking, or swimming you can use them as a muse for your practice.
Instead of working toward peak poses, you can do poses that balance out the hunched position of the upper back while you are on a bike or the tightness in your quads from hiking.🤸‍♀️

There is this myth that female friendships are complicated, competitive, fragile or even impossible.
However, women have proved that they "spot" each other through challenging times. "Adjust" each other when they need a helping hand. "Base" each other when they want to fly high. And "fly" gracefully with each other's support.

We are at the time of year when we set goals for the new year. Goals which we might give up as life's difficulties appear in our path. 🤷‍♀️
However, yoga can be a great tool that will help us stay focused to our future goals, either these are emotional or practical.
Yoga is not just a work-out, it is a work-in, and this is the point of spiritual practice to make us teachable, to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are. ❤

Yoga is a practice where your feet are in direct contact with the earth.
Maybe you are practicing barefoot on a wooden floor, on the sand, on the soil, in the safety of your home, or even among a group of passionate yogis on a roof-top of a building right in the old town of a Mediterranean city.
Wherever you are practicing try to remember that yoga is more than a practice. It is also what we are doing off the mat and in our every day life. How we communicate, whether we are listening, whether we are observing, whether we respect other living beings.
So be kind!
Be a True yogi!

"If you practice yoga, then you most likely have experienced the “high” that yoga offers—that feeling like you are grounded in your body, calm, connected, clear, and centered. In this space, it might feel like a dark cloud that was following you around prior to class has suddenly disappeared. Or, that negative thought, emotion, or physical sensation eating away at you has miraculously subsided. You float away from your practice, and no unwanted experience can detract from your calm and peace. This is why yoga is often touted for its calming and relaxing effects on both mind and body. Above and beyond the calm and relaxation, you also may have experienced a deeper connection between your mind and body, as well as more intimacy with your internal experiences, e.g., thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. And, perhaps you have noticed that with this deeper connection and intimacy comes less judgment and evaluation of those internal experiences. This process translates into that state of bliss we experience after our practice, and arguably leads to less suffering in our lives (aka emotional health and well-being). Hence, yoga for mental health has received increasing attention from both yogis and scientists alike, with the benefits of yoga for mental health traversing several areas ranging from mood and anxiety disorders to stress reduction."

💪 75 volunteers
➡️ 402 kg of garbage were collected in just two hours of clean up!

The recording and counting of garbage was done in a defined area and the results show that once more PLASTIC is the main source of pollution on our coasts and beaches!
A kind reminder to EVERYONE that we MUST keep our beaches clean!
