🌼Happy International Yoga Day🌼

Life is not meant to be easy, there ups and downs, beautiful moments and then difficult moments, there are periods of time that you are flying and then your down trying to figure out how to haddle everything.

That's why we step on our mats every single day, through the practice we learn so much about our selfs, our emotions. How we react when a difficult pose comes, how we face our emotions,
thats how it's going to reflect when a difficult time comes into our lives.

So what the practice does for us,
is preparing us for what is coming in the future.

Sooo😊 be patient and keep practicing,
keep practicing, keep practicing and all is coming!

My whole practice has changed from the day I studied and practiced under Manju Jois guidance!! One of the wiser decisions I've made is to meet in person , son of K. Pattabhi Jois the father of Ashtanga yoga.
A traditional teacher and a Guru, who doesn't like to be called a guru but as he describes himself a messenger.
He is sweet, kind and humble human, while his presence and smile lights up your heart. His knowledge and the way he sees the practice of yoga and life in general it is so simple, no complications and that for me was very important to remember.
I had my conserns traveling and doing an intensive training on this period of my life but at the end I gained and learned sooo much leaving this ttc with much deeper understanding of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, a deeper meaning of what the practice really is for me and I will continue doing Ashtanga Yoga in every phase of my life, keeping things simple, change my yoga routine, modify when needed and do my practice anw, because it keeps me healthy, sane, makes me feel alive❣️
More than honored to be Manju's student. I feel his light and presence every time I step on my mat, his voice is still in my head when I'm overdoing it and remind myself to learn and grow with the flow of things.
Thank you for guiding me towards the light✨
Grow with the flow!!
Keep things simple!!
Keep practicing!!

The journey is yours just like everything else. Everyone heals differently. Everyone progresses at a different pace.
What matters is how you arrived today compares to where you were before whether that be last month, last year or last decades.

I feel truly honored that I practice and learnt from the Ashtanga Yoga Legend .

Last week I had the opportunity to study with David and experience his unique and inspiring way of teaching. He is an incredibly funny and humble person with so much knowledge and wisdom. Strict and immensely kind at the same time.

Thank you so much for sharing your presence and light with us.

When we are in love we are able to move mountains, we can change the world. When we love our job, we create, explore, we innovate and expand.
When we love our selfs we don't need anything, we feel complete. Love is what make us move. Love is strength, the rest may be nonsense🙏

The strongest and deepest relationship we ever feel in life is with ourselves. So honour and respect this relationship every day like you would with any other human you love. Love yourself deeply, respect and understand yourself, care for yourself, be kind to yourself, with all the tools you have, knowing your strengths and weaknesses, do the best you can!
Only then it becomes clear We are all One, having different experiences on this planet Earth. And everyone is doing the best they can with all the tools they have.

It's not about finding balance, it's about creating it.

The frustration you can feel during your practice is a simulation of life's difficulties. By doing yoga we are actually training the mind while exercising our body. We learn how to face our emotions, how to deal with them and go through them to finally reach a state of peace and stillness.
_
Now what you have to do is apply the same thing in your daily life. It can be difficult sometimes to be in the same mindset off the mat but in my opinion the most important practice of all. So every time that you feel like you are breaking down remember to breathe, observe and analyze your emotions, to understand before reacting.
_
Stop waiting for things to fall into place and create your own balance, I know you can.💚

A healthy new year resolution,

that I would encourage is to set and stick to having a day or weekly focus intention.
A lot of times when we start the new year we have big goals in mind we want to accomplish, but often those goals are forgotten by the end of the year. I've found that the best way to build consistency is to take small daily steps.

Setting an intention each day or a week allows you to really focus in on what is more important and it keeps it at the forefront of your mind rather than trying to remember what you noted a few months ago.

And the idea of having a consistent daily yoga practice keeps us in the present moment and make the resolution more sustainable.

The opposite of love isn't hate but fear.
"Fear is the hardest emotion to manage. Out of pain we cry, out of anger we scream, but fear clings to the heart" and even more in our minds and very often we make decisions "for fear of" and not "for love of".
So it is important to have trust, patience and remain open heart.

I took my hobby and turned it into my profession. I’m incredibly fortunate that this is the case. I love my work. I am passionate about it. I believe it is a positive gift I am able to give the world. It energizes me, it fascinates me, it challenges me. I read and think about yoga most of my time. My job is not just my passion, it is fun.

If you came across to one of my classes you will see that I love bringing fun and humor during the sessions while I love staying into the tradition of Yoga, sometimes I prefer loosen up my students allow them to laugh and bring some joy into their practice.

Try to enjoy your practice and enjoy your life too. Try to bring joy into every minute, every breath. Don't take your self or this thing called life too serious. Some things in our life of course need more care and concern but give what's needed. Then relax into what possible, what's filled with joy, what's filled with love 💗

It is a never-ending practice.
There is no final pose to reach. The practice itself is the final goal of Yoga.
Or, it is better said that the practice is the goal of the asana practice itself.
The final goal of Yoga it is way harder to explain. ✨

"Being humble means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others."
I bound down and being humble in my favorite Bound Eagle or Buddha Garudasana.
Buddha Garudasana requires a combination of balance, strength and flexibility. A beautiful stretch for our shoulders, upper back and legs. Garudasana creates space in our bodies physically, but also opens up space mentally.
To sustain this posture, we must give it our full attention and commitment, drawing the mind to one singular point of focus(drishti).
Drishti is so important during yoga practice but is also much more than a gazing point. Drishti is mental focus that you can take off the mat and into your life as a true spiritual strength.

Headstand and inversions has always been very challenging for me. I can remember the fear I was feeling trying to attempt this pose. So scared to fall and hurt myself, most of the time I couldn't even stretch both legs before going down.
It took me a while before I gain some confidence and finally do a headstand. I can now proudly say that I mastered this pose.
I just needed some courage, deep breaths and many tries. We can truly be our worst enemy in that kind of moment, I remember sabotaging myself for months before mastering it.
I will always be a student first, no matter if I'm teaching or not. I'll never stop learning and growing and that's what is passionate about yoga and life in general.
Everyday the practice helps me dealing with my deepest feelings and fears. I stopped getting so distracted and started to observe myself.
Don't try to get over fear, go through it. Feel it, acknowledge it and let it flow past you. You are on your way to becoming fearless.

Practice for me, practice for everyone else. I share my practice through my teachings, through my way of being in my day to day. I hope I can convey something as valuable as what I have received from those around me, from my teachers and all those who have wanted to practice with me.
Sharing what I love everyday is something magical and I hope I will inspire my students as much as they inspire me.

"Yoga changed my life"

It's not the fancy poses that made me try yoga. Honestly I didn't even know that anyone can become so flexible through this practice.

While suffering from panic attacks and anxiety, I wasn't really confident about myself and I felt depressed every day.
At that point in my life, I knew I needed a change.

I travelled to India for 2 months, pushing my limits and expanding my comfort zone.
I came across this beautiful practice, this wonderful tradition.

I began practicing regularly with my yoga teacher to whom I will be forever grateful for sharing her knowledge with me.
Being on the mat, breathing, moving, releasing, and connecting with my self; that's where I started feeling good again in my own body.
Grounded, secure, confident, complete and most importantly, feeling healthy and happy
Yoga isn’t going to turn everyone’s life around, but it has the potential to do so. You just need to be open to it. I don’t know whether it was luck or karma but yoga came to me at the right time.

Evie is a motivated and enthusiastic yoga instructor who is passionate about helping people find their balance and develop a fun and sustainable at home yoga practice. Trained in Goa, India and certified by Yoga Alliance (RYS200) as a Multi-style yoga teacher. She has a true passion for teaching yoga and helping others understand their own bodies, feel at home within themselves and create a balance on and off the mat. Classes are suitable for beginners and Intermediate levels, and anyone who wishes to incorporate Yoga into their lifestyle. Alignment, adjustment, safety and laughter are all prioritised.
