Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with over 2.3 million new cases diagnosed each year. While the numbers are significant, what truly matters is that early detection can save lives.

Regular screenings, understanding your personal risk factors, and paying attention to changes in your body are key steps in prevention and timely diagnosis. At AMC, we believe awareness is not only about statistics, itโ€™s about giving every woman the chance to protect her health and future.

This October, take a moment to prioritise your well-being: schedule a check-up, encourage loved ones to do the same, and stay informed. Together, we can change the numbers.

๐Ÿ’— Early detection matters. Your health matters.

In India, a pioneering program is training blind and visually impaired women to detect breast cancer at its earliest stages, using only their sense of touch.

These women, known as Medical Tactile Examiners (MTEs), undergo nine months of specialised training to perform highly detailed breast examinations. Their heightened sense of touch enables them to detect lumps as small as 6โ€“8mm, and sometimes even smaller than those found by physicians during routine checks.

This method, developed by the German initiative Discovering Hands, is now being used in India, where breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women. With less than 1% of women attending breast screening programs, MTEs are helping to bridge the gap, especially in underserved communities.

Research shows MTEs not only match physicians in accuracy, but also help women feel more comfortable during the examination.

By transforming disability into ability, this approach provides a cost-effective and innovative solution for early cancer detection and awareness.

A gentle reminder this October ๐Ÿ’—

We often spend our days rushing through tasks, focusing on things that feel urgent but are not always important. Yet when it comes to your health, nothing should come second.

Breast cancer screenings and self-exams take only a few minutes, but they can make a lifetime of difference.
๐Ÿ’— This October, we remind you:
โœ”๏ธ Prioritise your breast health
โœ”๏ธ Schedule your screening
โœ”๏ธ Encourage the women you love to do the same

Because sometimes the things we postpone are the ones that matter most. Early detection can save your life, and your health should always come first ๐Ÿ’™

This , letโ€™s remember: โค๏ธ your heart works tirelessly, beating over 100,000 times every single day.

๐Ÿ”น Why it matters: Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide, but up to 80% of premature cases can be prevented.

๐Ÿ”น What you can do:
๐ŸŽ Choose heart-healthy foods (less salt, more fruits, vegetables & whole grains).
๐Ÿƒ Stay active. Just 30 minutes of movement a day lowers your risk.
๐Ÿฉบ Donโ€™t skip regular check-ups. Early detection saves lives.
๐Ÿšญ Avoid tobacco and limit alcohol.

Your heart is at the centre of everything you do. Donโ€™t miss a beat. Protect it today for a healthier tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’™
