Elena Aristodemou is the Founder and Lead Psychologist of Altius Mind Institute, licensed Clinical Psychologist in Cyprus and licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York City. In 2019, Elena Aristodemou launched Altius Mind Institute to support individuals suffering from mental health disorders and to help them achieve a long term recovery. Elena Aristodemou also, provides psychotherapy and diagnostic assessments at the Thalassemia Center and at the Pedieos IVF Center. Elena Aristodemou received her education in United Kingdom where she obtained her Bachelor degree in Psychology from Reading University. Upon coming to United States of America she obtained her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from American International College. Early in her career, Elena was trained in a variety of psychological treatments by current leaders in the field of psychology. She received a 4-year training in Interpersonal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy program for Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, and Psychology in New York City. She received an intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Personality Disorders at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Philadelphia. She received an intensive training in Gestalt Psychotherapy by Dr. Scott Kellogg in New York City. Fulfilling this dream and aspiration enabled me not only to develop as an individual but also to contribute to society in general. Therefore, I launched Altius Mind Institute in 2019 in order to create a safe and supportive environment to help my clients be self reflective and create lasting change.

As we close this year, I invite you to pause and reflect on what showed up for you — the growth, the challenges, and the lessons that shaped your inner world. 🌿

In my own reflections as a psychologist, I’ve noticed the value of identifying personal triggers rather than attributing their origin externally. This process has deepened self-awareness and fostered more mindful relational choices, including what love has truly meant this year — from compassion to accountability.

🧠 Balance came from understanding what nourishes our mental and emotional wellbeing — and protecting it with intention.
⚡ Energy drainers reminded me where boundaries were most needed.
🪨 Hardest parts were opportunities to apply therapeutic tools to real life.
🎉 Most enjoyable moments were the breakthroughs and connections made.
🤝 People I feel closest to are those who witnessed vulnerability with empathy.

Το άγχος είναι το πιο σύνηθες θέμα ψυχικής υγείας στις γυναίκες. Το άγχος επηρεάζει μια στις τρεις γυναίκες κατά τη διάρκεια της ζωής τους, (συχνά η κατάθλιψη και το άγχος εμφανίζονται μαζί σαν συμπτώματα). Επίσης, οι γυναίκες έχουν τις διπλάσιες πιθανότητες, σε σύγκριση με τους άνδρες, να αναπτύξουν μια διαταραχή άγχους και τα συμπτώματα τείνουν να εμφανίζονται νωρίτερα στη ζωή τους.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (License No. 18642) with experience working with adolescents and adults using psychological assessments and a variety of theoretical perspectives in individual, family and group therapy sessions with a specialization in CBT and Interpersonal Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

My Undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Reading in United Kingdom have formed the basis of my future ambitions which were to undertake Postgraduate studies in Clinical Psychology at the American International College in United States of America and furthermore, a Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology at the John Jay Criminal Justice College in United States of America.

Fulfilling this dream and aspiration enabled me not only to develop as an individual but also to contribute to society in general. Therefore, I launched Altius Mind Institute in 2020 in order to create a safe and supportive environment to help my clients be self-reflective and create lasting change.
