Είμαστε ιδιαίτερα χαρούμενοι που η ομάδα της Nicosia Periodontics υποστηρίζει τη φιλανθρωπική εκδήλωση “Swim Out in the Open”, που διοργανώνεται από το Kyrenia Nautical Club Masters Division🏊‍.

Οι συμμετέχοντες μπορούν να κολυμπήσουν οποιαδήποτε απόσταση από 200m έως 5km, να προσφέρουν δωρεά ή να βρουν χορηγούς για να στηρίξουν τον σκοπό.

🎯 Στόχος της εκδήλωσης είναι η οικονομική ενίσχυση του φιλανθρωπικού οργανισμού «Μοναδικά Χαμόγελα» (Monadika Xamogela), ο οποίος δραστηριοποιείται στην αναγνώριση, υπεράσπιση και προστασία των δικαιωμάτων παιδιών και ατόμων που πάσχουν από σπάνιες γενετικές παθήσεις.

Ο οργανισμός προάγει:

•⁠ ⁠Την ενημέρωση και ευαισθητοποίηση του κοινού και των αρμόδιων αρχών για τις σπάνιες παθήσεις και τις κοινωνικές τους επιπτώσεις.
•⁠ ⁠Την ηθική και κοινωνική στήριξη των πασχόντων και των οικογενειών τους.
•⁠ ⁠Τη σύνδεση των ατόμων αυτών με την κοινότητα, τα σχολεία, τους επαγγελματίες υγείας και τις αρμόδιες κρατικές υπηρεσίες, για τη βέλτιστη φροντίδα, θεραπεία και κοινωνική τους ένταξη.

We are delighted that the Nicosia Periodontics team is supporting the charity event “Swim Out in the Open”, organized by the *Kyrenia Nautical Club Masters Division 🏊‍.

Swimmers can take part in any distance between 200m and 5km, and can either donate or be sponsored to swim out in the open.

🎯 The event’s goal is to raise funds for the “Monadika Xamogela” charity in Cyprus, which focuses on the identification, advocacy, and safeguarding of the rights of children and individuals affected by rare genetic diseases.

The charity promotes:

•⁠ ⁠Public awareness and information-sharing about rare genetic diseases and their social impact.
•⁠ ⁠Social and moral support for individuals and their families.
•⁠ ⁠Communication and collaboration among patients, families, schools, health professionals, and public authorities to ensure better diagnosis, care, treatment, and integration into society.

Scientists at Tufts University have developed a groundbreaking “smart” dental implant that not only replaces missing teeth. It can actually connect with your nerves and communicate with your brain, just like a natural tooth.

Unlike conventional implants that are screwed into the jawbone and lack any real sensation, this new design uses a biodegradable coating infused with stem cells and nerve-growth proteins. This allows the implant to naturally grow into the gum, integrate with soft tissue, and reconnect nerve pathways.

And get this, it secures itself without drilling. As it settles into the socket, it heals with the surrounding tissue and helps restore the mouth-to-brain signaling lost when a natural tooth is removed.

In early trials with rodents, the implant proved to be biocompatible and successfully connected with nerves in just six weeks. Next steps? Testing brain activity to confirm restored sensory feedback, followed by trials in larger animals and eventually humans.
