It’s easy to underestimate the power of a steady practice in a world full of noise and distraction.

Ashtanga invites us back into the body, to listen beneath the mental chatter and trust a deeper awareness.

Some days the practice feels heavy or unchanged. But it isn’t here to make life easier, it’s here to make us steadier.

With time, this steadiness becomes support, helping us meet life with more clarity, strength, and grace. 🌿

CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY 🌱 In Ashtanga, progress isn’t built on intensity but on returning.

Not every practice will feel strong or inspired. Some days simply showing up is the practice. You do what you can.

This is where the work really happens: not in how deep you go, but in how consistently you come back.

Over time, consistency becomes steadiness. And steadiness becomes something you can rely on, on and off the mat.

Over time, the practice reshapes how we respond, how we listen, and how we meet ourselves 🕉️✨

Not by forcing change, but by gently inviting awareness.

This is the deeper work of yoga, not changing the world around us, but transforming the one who is seeing. 🌿

Teaching Ashtanga has taught me as much as practicing it.
It’s taught me patience when progress is slow, humility when effort looks different in every body, and trust in the wisdom each student carries.

Holding a shala is about listening, observing, and knowing when to guide and when to step back. Every day reminds me that I’m still a student too. And that may be the most important lesson of all. 🧘‍♀️🌬️

When the body is steady and the breath is calm, awareness expands 🌙
The practice is not just physical. It’s an invitation to listen, soften, and trust inner guidance

True guidance in Ashtanga is not imposed.
Before guiding, I observe and listen to the practitioner’s body. I aim to support without interfering and to respect the intelligence that already lives within it.

Ashtanga is a mirror. 🪞
The sequence stays the same, so we can clearly see what changes within us.
Breath by breath, practice becomes presence. ✨.

I didn’t come to yoga to shape my body. I came to learn how to live inside it, to feel it, to listen to it, and to understand its limits and its intelligence.

Over the years, practice has taught me that yoga is not something we perform for an outcome. It is something we enter, day after day, with humility and attention. Some days it feels expansive, other days confronting, but it always asks for presence.

Yoga refines the body through discipline, steadies the mind through breath, and humbles the spirit by revealing where we resist and where we hold on. Again and again, it invites honesty, especially in the moments when comfort would be easier than truth.

All of this, and so much more, I have learned from my guru, Sharath. Thank you for leading us on this transformative path.

During practice, thoughts will visit. You don’t have to host them; stay with the breath 🌬️

The work is not to silence the mind, but to stop entertaining every thought that appears. Learning not to cling is the practice, and one of the most challenging disciplines we carry with us.
This is not a lesson only for the mat, but for everyday life. 🧘‍♀️✨

As this year comes to a close, I want to thank every one of you. Together, we’ve created a space where discipline feels like devotion, where growth is shared, and where breath connects us more deeply than words ever could. You’ve shaped this shala with your energy and your heart. 📿

Wishing you a calm, steady, and meaningful year ahead. May 2026 meet you with clarity, peace, and growth. Happy New Year. ✨

With deep gratitude,
Kyriakos Hadjiphilippou 🙏
