It fills us with joy when we receive a call thanking us for excellent service. This time it's our amazing team of transport executives - [aka van drivers😉] Andy & Simon. Today they delivered & set up a hospital bed on hire from our Chlorakas Friends' Hospice Charity Shops. The delight expressed by the client & their son for the polite & professional manner of our delivery team was music to our ears. 🎼Well done you two! Merry Christmas to all! 🥰🎄

Our Chloraka shop will close on 23 Dec to give all our fabulous volunteers a much deserved break. We'd like to thank all our wonderful customers for their continued support & wish them & their families a very merry Christmas & a happy, healthy 2026.🎄We open again on Thurs 8 Jan with our mammoth new year sale!

Our Polis Friends' Hospice Charity Shops will be closed from 24- 28 Dec. Open 29 -31 Dec & closed new years day to give all our fabulous volunteers a much deserved break.

This week our President Chris Jones, Trustee Michalis Nicolaou & Nurse Manager Helen Sage visited our colleagues at the 26 bed Arodaphnousa Palliative Care Centre in Nicosia. We are proud of our longstanding relationship which allows us to work in close collaboration. Our core values are identical: to offer professional Palliative Care to patients free of charge.

We gave well deserved congratulations to Dr Sophia Nestoros & CEO Maria Ioannidou for achieving the internationally recognised Standard of Accreditation Canada at the highest [Platinum] level. These world-class standards enable organisations like us to provide the highest achievable quality of care for our patients.

Our nursing team will visit Arodaphnousa to observe excellent practice in action as well as adopting their recommendations. We continue the additional work required by the Ministry of Health & the Fire Service & will update again as soon as we can. We very much appreciate our long term supporters, volunteers, fundraisers & shop customers for their continued understanding & dedication.

Our Pissouri Friends' Hospice Charity Shops will be closed from Wed 24 Dec to give all our fabulous volunteers a much deserved break. We reopen on Wed 7 Jan at 09:30. If you wish to donate whilst we are closed please help by calling 99 248739 to arrange a drop off time rather than leave donations outside the shop.

Anticipatory grief occurs when we are aware that we are going to lose a loved one. Unlike grief that follows after a death - anticipatory grief begins before the loss occurs. In many ways being 'prepared' for death doesn't make it any easier. It's so important to be kind to ourselves in our mind & allow safe space & time to express our emotions.💞
