With the completion of 50 years of life on this earth, a lot of medical tests are added to our busy calendars 😂 and last week I did my very first test!
World osteoporosis day is celebrated every year on October 20th. Osteoporosis nowadays affects 200 million people worldwide and the number is gradually increasing because of the aging population of the world. In simple terms is a chronic condition affecting the mass of our bones (low density). Bones become porous and this potentially brings fractures. According to the announcement of the Endocrine Society of Cyprus, research shows that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men over 50 years of age are affected. Most common causes are of course in women and ! Important risk factors are immobility/lack of exercise, low body weight, genetics, smoking and alcohol abuse Osteoporosis is called the “silent disease” as it does not really show clear symptoms before a stress fracture occurs. Most common fractures are related to the spine, the pelvis and the wrist and they’re accompanied by pain, loss of height, kyphosis and diminishing quality of life. The absolute best way to prevent osteoporosis is of course to and follow a diet that is rich in vitamin D and calcium. and are great forms of exercise especially when resistance/ loading is added and are considered very safe, in combination with a routine of daily walks. Nutrition matters more than you think
Your body reflects how you feed it!
Without enough fuel, the right kind of fuel, there are no results. Not eating enough is as bad as overeating in my opinion.
I am 50 years old and have managed to maintain my body weight as it was when i started my University studies. Its hard work and it got even harder when I went through menopause! At that stage one gains fat and loses muscle! I have had to change the way I eat, the kind of things I eat. 5 and a half years ago I stopped poisoning my body with sugar! Just like holding a pair of scissors ✂️ and cutting it off! I never went back to it!!! I am strong and healthy and I want the same for you too!
So, let’s start our weekend with a great breakfast!

is one of the most powerful tools for dancers, professional or not! Building on and , it helps develop for enhanced performance , improves and , increases and supports mobility to prevent . Healthy dancers’ bodies are the ones that have the longest careers! Thank you Dance Flow Studios for giving me the opportunity to share my knowledge and expertise in the field of Pilates for Dancers! There is so much talent in this tiny country of ours! All we need to do is water the plant, reach for the roots and nourish them so that the plant will flourish and bloom!
Pilates and other forms of body conditioning will make the difference in how well our talented dancers perform and how they can maintain the health of their bodies to avoid injuries.
If we trust each other and start believing in collective effort and team work , then there is hope that our dancers can excel abroad and maybe one day MY dream will become true …maybe we will finally create a National Ballet that we can be proud of!
I look forward to meeting the dreamers, the hard working girls and boys that fight for this Art form!

With September arriving, it feels like the curtain is coming down on summer’s vibrant show … why does the spirit of summer have to end while we can keep its essence alive in our hearts??? Life is all about and and just like the seasons, we have to LEARN to flow with it! My life has always been about movement, literally and metaphorically … afterall I teach people how to to stay fit and healthy! I can now say with confidence that I don’t just teach people the moves of or … I support people through their ups and downs, by giving them an hour for themselves every single day! Through the comfort of their own home, office or hotel room, the people that connect with our little community of like-minded individuals and get their daily dose of through live, interactive classes suited to their own needs! Do we actually realise what an hour to ourselves a day can do to our overall physical and mental health??? Exercise is a great and can bring on a daily basis. So, the warmth, light and freedom of the summer can stay with us in spirit, through laughter and joy, through the months ahead, till the next summer arrives !
