Singing with people that have become friends and amazing Music teachers, my heart fills with joy! The classical Matwork he created is a System of exercises designed to flow and build upon itself. The exercises are typically taught in a specific order to maximize flow and effectiveness
Movements are deliberate and controlled, engaging the core and promoting alignment. Breathing and concentration are Integral parts of the practice, helping to connect body and mind
Modern Pilates often adapts and evolves, incorporating new elements. However, purists (like myself) argue that staying true to Joseph Pilates’ original intent is key to experiencing the full benefits. l

It’s important that we STICK to the Integrity and the Authenticity of the METHOD!
Pilates is a SYSTEM of exercises carefully developed and studied by a man who was a movement genius, a man who was so ahead of his time but at the same time went back to basics and to nature and studied the movement of animals!
Anything other than the Authentic Classical Mat syllabus with break downs and variations can be called something else … PLEASE!

As we pause to mark 6 years since the seismic shift of life on 13 March 2020, the memories linger – some tender, some transformative 💔. The night the world locked down I gasped for air, took a pause (a totally sleepless night) and the next morning plunged into the real deep … The doors of “Christie’s Pilates Studio” closed, but my passion for teaching found a new rhythm online. What was meant to be a brief pause became a journey of discovery, showing me depths of my patience I never knew I had, the agility of my spirit, and the resilience of heart. Through it all, I grew even stronger, proving that even in stillness, life finds a way to flourish … Blowing 6 Candles of Online Classes today , I can only be grateful for the journey and thankful to all those that are still part of our community!

And this is what makes US Pilatistas different!!!! Every day you ll see something new on social media, you ll probably want to try it all and feel the hype … when you return to though (which is what Joseph Pilates himself called his method) you know that is where you are deeply rooted! Some days the body needs CLARITY! You try to work harder but it doesn’t happen, your body feels shaky, tense, rushed … at this point it’s not asking for more strength, it’s asking for SAFETY! And that’s when the power of authentic Pilates really hits the target ! Less tension, full control of body movement versus mind. Real Pilates calms first and then comes the strength !

Saturday is for Stretch … or Strength??? I ve been putting words to the initials of each day of the week for quite some time now, looking for more ways to inspire my clients for the weekly schedule and their goals.
Saturday is the pillar stone of the weekend, everything revolves around it. The Saturday morning feeling when you wake up and take that very first STRETCH in bed is pure pleasure! So with that euphoric state of being, why not devote it to Stretching? It can be anything from 5 minutes in your bed, to a full stretch class on your mat, a stretch after your morning run, or when you’re done cleaning your house … if you have been driving for hours to go see family or travelling for work, don’t you need a good stretch after that? If you’re studying or working a long shift, you need to pause and stretch … to do this though, you need to find the Strength, the will, the motivation plus the physical strength to stretch, right? Lets say it clearly, how many people actually love to stretch? It’s debatable! How many know the benefits of stretching? Almost everyone! So the verdict goes to “Saturday is for Stretch AND Strength!”Whatever works for you, whatever triggers the mind to take the decision to sit on that mat … or maybe stand? Unless you want to do a full Strength day 😆 😂Have a great one!

Menopause is maybe the longest transition in a woman’s life and comes with all kinds of physiological and psychological changes. When I was attacked by Menopause at the young age of 45, in the middle of the 1st Covid Lockdown, I felt like my life was ending. So I decided to take matters in my hands, Read a lot about it and then proceeded to complete my “Pilates for the Menopause” training with my Association, BCP UK.
5 years later I can guarantee that Pilates can be a total game changer in handling the endless list of symptoms so that women can get on with their life feeling strong, confident and happy! The exercises we teach in Pilates for the Menopause have the potential for a truly positive impact on bone health, strength, flexibility, balance and mental well being.
All you have to do is be open about it and give it a try!
