YOGA DIVE ACADEMY CYPRUS
My creation of Yoga Dive, this is the story
Naturally high workshops - Breath Less conscious breathing techniques
How to become Naturally high
From my book Abhaya
The chapter gives you insights about various physiological and spiritual aspects. Yoga dive differs because it uses various forms of yoga, and deep mediation practices, to accommodate the needs of Yogis, b
reath workers, athletes and Yogis - dynamic yoga and static yoga Asana ( poses) , as well advance pranayama kumbhaka ( breath retention, breath control, Hypoxia ) within the practice. Mostly its literally science coming together with yoga, as I love to teach it. I spend years and months learning, studying new things so I could provide the best knowledge and to give a bespoken practice to breath workers and yogis, everything from anatomy to science to the actual diving. The only thing left was now to experience it myself, and so I did. My first attempt at diving with a neoprene suite was with my dear friend Antonis, which so gently and calmly took me in to the water and we dived for the first time. I had never put on fins or a suits neither had I dived deeply on one breath, only as child having some fun at depth. My first dives where amazing and soon with various teachers I took my first dive at 25 meters just a month after I started to learn the basic of freediving, and slowly advanced and got deeper and more calm. Stillness calmness and you lose yourself in something beyond yourself, yet within yourself. You realize how fragile you are, a drop in an ocean so grand and yet how connected we all are to this ancient water. For it is yes, Ancient, that all life emerged from. At a deep dive I felt like I could stay there forever, I did not know what was an illusion and what was my limit anymore, I was just there holding on to a rock in complete stillness low slow heart beat no breath, then the fear kicked in, that I would black out if I held on more to his sensation. Ow this gets addictive in a good way, you just want more of this, are we playing on the edge of life, to feel alive? Have you heard the saying, when life gets tuff, dive under the waves. Its two different worlds, on the surface chaos can be happening, wind waves clouds, and then you dive under and all is still again. Same is within us, we can always come back to this place within us, our hearts our essence where we are safe always, just like in water. The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choice less as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea. Anne Morow lindberg
My journey with yoga dive took its first steps in Limassol with workshops and soon after my travels reached out to Chios, Crete, Athens, and Italy. During the period of two years I had done over 20 workshops and 13 Retreats, I feel so blessed with the meeting of new people and all experience I have encountered and will encounter. Our Academy got registered from the yoga alliance as a certified academy, and we started teaching teachers. The journey of Yoga Dive continuous so let’s see what it holds for us. The Academy today offers workshops and weekly classes, to expand and widen our knowledge of pranayama and various forms of yoga, we call it Naturally high – the breath less journey
I would like to bring a place to join the love for the science of yoga in unity with the love for the sea, and the love of Nature and earth. When the breath wanders the mind is also unsteady but when the breath is calmed the mind too will be still. Only by letting go of our physical and mental limits are we free to experience the truth of our existence. Your body begins to sink a little bit like a stone. We call this part the free-fall, the moment when freedivers stop moving completely, and the most beautiful part of the dive. When you eventually come back from a dive and you take your first breath, every time it feels like your first breath ever. So for me, it feels like being born again. I think of the water a little like the womb. Amati Martina
