From Student to Lecturer: Dr. Karel Paukner Returns to the Classroom
At the end of last year, our product manager for companion animals, Dr. Karel Paukner, DVM, BSc, PhD, returned to academia — this time not as a student, but as a speaker and industry expert.
Dr. Paukner’s professional path exemplifies the powerful connection between industry and academia. He graduated from the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, where he also completed his postgraduate studies and worked as a clinician at the university hospital for canine and feline diseases. Today, he represents Bioveta as a specialist in veterinary vaccines and therapeutics for companion animals.
In December, he was invited by our Slovak branch to lecture at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, sharing his experience with final-year students. His seminar focused on the importance of vaccination in dogs — not only for preventing serious infectious diseases like rabies and leptospirosis but also for protecting public health.
As a company, Bioveta strongly supports both lifelong learning and undergraduate education. Whether it’s through congresses, hands-on workshops, or academic lectures, we invest in meaningful knowledge transfer for veterinarians at every stage of their career.
Vaccination works. Since the 1970s, Bioveta has helped make preventable infectious diseases in dogs less common — allowing veterinarians to focus more on long-term care and chronic conditions.
We’re proud that our team includes professionals like Dr. Paukner, whose expertise helps bridge the gap between science, practice, and education.
