The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry has been running the study programme General Medicine for more than 20 years, recently also adding Dentistry as a course taught in English. In those years, our graduates have successfully established themselves as respected and sought after members of healthcare teams in numerous countries, from the USA and Canada, the UK, Norway all the way to Malaysia and Ja

pan. Results from USMLE tests show that our graduates have no trouble competing with the best students from the whole world, securing jobs even at the most prestigious clinics and universities, including the Mayo clinic and Harvard University.

🌍 Missed our first ever Medical Alumni Talk?

Yesterday marked the premiere of our Medical Alumni Talks series – and let’s just say, if you weren’t there, you missed a goldmine of advice!

🎤 Our guest speaker, Dr. Rashi Mane, a 2019 graduate, joined us from Texas where she’s gearing up to start her residency at UT Health San Antonio. She generously shared her journey and some incredibly useful tips, including:

✅ How to navigate the GMC registration process in the UK
✅ Why elective trainings matter – and how to get the most out of them
✅ Her strategy for tackling the USMLE – when to take Step 1 & 2, which materials helped her, and why your Step 2 score is crucial
✅ The importance of a solid foundation in basic sciences (her biggest “if I could go back” advice!)
✅ How to arrange clinical training in the U.S. and the residency application process

💬 It was an eye-opening, honest, and truly helpful session – and we’re so grateful to Dr. Rashi for giving her time and insight to help fellow students prepare for life after graduation.

Last night we held a very special event, a concert by our exchange student Gigi. Playing pieces of his own as well as from all around the world, singing in English, French, Georgian and even in Czech, accompanying the songs with many interesting facts, connecting Georgia with the Czech Republic and beyond. It was an outstanding performance by this smart and modest young medic. Thank you, Gigi, for the very pleasant evening.
