I don't want to teach you pretty yoga poses that don't correspond to real life.

I want you to stroll, dance and skip through your day.

I want you to be able to chase after your grandkids when you're older.

I want you to exist comfortably and easefully in your own body—able to glide through life, not held back by pain or injury.

Because balancing on your hands isn't much good if you can't tie your own shoelaces.

I’ve been thinking lately about how much wisdom nature offers us—especially in the garden. Every autumn, I watch gardeners cut plants right back, sometimes to what looks like bare sticks. And yet, come spring, they return with even more strength and beauty. It feels like such a powerful reminder that growth often requires letting go.

In Indian mythology, the goddess Kali is often seen as a fierce destroyer—but she’s also a force of renewal. She clears away what no longer serves so that life can begin again, fuller and more vibrant. I love that image: pruning not as loss, but as a clearing for what’s meant to flourish.

Midlife, for me, is starting to feel a lot like that. I’ve been learning—sometimes reluctantly, sometimes clumsily—to release what drains me: obligations that no longer fit, relationships that don’t nourish, even old grudges and unnecessary clutter. Each time I let something go, I notice how much lighter I feel, and how much more space I have for what truly matters.

So instead of thinking about aging as diminishment, I want to see it as intentional pruning—a way of creating space for deeper connections, meaningful projects, and the wisdom we’ve gathered to ripen.

What about you—what are you ready to prune so that new growth can take root? 🌱

The busy season is just getting started… 🏃🏃‍➡️

Work, family, that niggling feeling you've forgotten something, or you aren't on top of everything... It’s so easy to get swept up and forget about yourself.

That’s why our classes this week are all about creating a quiet space before the storm—so you can breathe, move, and refill your cup. 🫶

Moments of quiet. Moments of release. And a reminder that there is a deep strength inside you 💪 You'll leave feeling grounded, steady and supported.

Think of it as giving yourself a soft landing before life speeds up again. 💖

Anyone who's been on our retreats knows that the food is such an important part of the experience ✨

We put a huge amount of love into each and every meal, because nourishing the body is just as essential as moving, breathing, and resting. That’s why every meal is created with care (and Michael's magical touch) - wholesome, healthy, and delicious dishes made from scratch, to support you from the inside out.

And this year, we’ve added a little extra special something… we’re growing our own organic vegetables to share with you 🌱🍅 from garden to plate, you’ll be enjoying the freshest fruits of our labour.

Because a retreat is about more than yoga — it’s about feeling deeply cared for in every way. 💚

All summer it’s been sunsets, long lazy evenings, holidays, barbecues, and maybe one too many scoops of gelato. 🍦✨ Beautiful? Absolutely. But how many ice creams can one human eat before the universe demands a forward fold? 🍦➡️🤸‍♀️

And let’s be honest—at some point the body starts whispering: “hey… remember me? That stretch? That breath? That delicious feeling of moving again?”

This is your gentle nudge to roll back onto your mat. No guilt, no “I should have kept it up,” just a soft landing into your practice—with a sprinkle of magic to make it feel fresh and new. 💫

Are you in? We're back on the mat Thursday 4th September - sign up here or just slide into my DMs: https://karina.yoga/schedule-pricing/

Recently, a student returned to class after a break and joked that she felt like a piece of wood 🪵🌴
I see you nodding — we’ve all felt that way at some point.

Because life happens. Sometimes we pause our yoga practice — for weeks, months, even years. The real question is: how do we begin again? Or more importantly, how do we find the motivation to begin again when it feels so hard?

The answer is simple:
✨ Just start. Or start again. But start.

Breaks are part of the journey. What matters is remembering your WHY.
Why do you practice yoga?

For me, my WHY is clear:
A regular practice brings ease to my body and mind. I sleep better, digest better, feel softer, and meet life — and others — more peacefully.

And beyond that lies yoga’s deeper WHY — our connection to something greater than ourselves, to puruṣa (pure consciousness), to a higher purpose that transcends our physical form. That’s where the magic really begins. ✨

So if you’ve had a break and don’t know where to start, ask yourself:
What is my WHY?
Then gently take one step. Lean into support. Use the resources that help you break the pause — and know that I’m right here with you 💕

And remember:
All the best trees are made of wood. And they’re perfect just as they are 🌳🌴

Classes start again 4th September - see you on the mat ✨

As yoga therapists, the best part of our work is helping people fall back in love with themselves. 💛

First we address the frustration with:
⚡ Parts that hurt
⚡ Parts that don’t move how they “should”
⚡ Parts that don’t look how we want them to

Because this frustration often leads to blame, judgment, and disconnection.

But what if the first step to healing your body… was healing your relationship with it? 🌿

Next time you feel pain or notice an injury, treat yourself as you would a child or a dear friend—with kindness, patience, and love.

✨ Instead of frustration, pause.
✨ Place a hand on your heart.
✨ Whisper: “I’m here. I’m listening. It’s OK.”

Notice what shifts when compassion replaces criticism. 💫

Give it a try and let me know how it feels. 🙏
