Neurofeedback Romania IFEN

Neurofeedback Romania IFEN Bring people together who want to know more about Neurofeedback, establish standards for education in Neurofeedback. About us

Who are we? Feiner. Thomas F.

The Institute for EEG Neurofeedback – IFEN for short – was founded in 2008 by Thomas F. IFEN specializes in the education and training of neurofeedback professionals. Feiner, founder and director of IFEN, is a BCIA-certified neurofeedback expert with over 25 years of experience. He has gained reputation through years of work with well-known neuroscientists and therapists, learning disorders, devel

oping his own programs and his test software CAPITO. This tool was developed to measure cognitive performance and event-related potentials for research and therapy of disorders of the central nervous system. The IFEN has a large network of neurofeedback users who help and support each other. In addition to its core offer, IFEN works regularly with international experts and organizes workshops in various locations around the world. Good to know: In our training courses, we only use approved medical devices that comply with EU regulations. We also use state-of-the-art neurofeedback technology. Why choose IFEN? Without a doubt, neurofeedback is one of the most innovative treatments, backed by countless positive testimonials and studies. We are convinced that the Neurofeedback certificate will be an important part in the portfolio of many occupational groups in the future: occupational therapists, psychologists, alternative practitioners, neurologists, psychotherapists and many more. Because we want to give as many people as possible access to high-quality neurofeedback training, we have focused on adapting our training concept to the needs of our customers. We call this important step the "IFEN concept" after Thomas F. The „IFEN-Concept“

Our training concept relies on tried and tested training methods based on normal-value databases supplemented by biofeedback. Every client is unique - we know how important an individualized and holistic treatment is for the therapy. The IFEN offers numerous unique advantages for ist trainees and therapists:

Always up to date – Science is our top priority. We base the contents of our courses exclusively on current, well-founded research and studies as well as on years of experience. We also work closely with international universities. Always hands-on – Practice is one of our most important cornerstones. We award the certificate only to those who gain enough experience through our practicum and supervision with a personal mentor. Working with people – Our instructors are not just technicians, but also therapists and physicians who care about the well-being and health of people. Reliable support – Our experienced neurofeedback experts are available almost 24 hours a day, online and via phone. Inclusive community – No one is alone in the IFEN family. Our friendly community welcomes everyone who needs help and seeks advice. Versatile offer – There is something for everyone in our wide range of training opportunities. In our workshops, we are supported by international experts. Quantitative EEG is one of our most important topics.

🧠 Revisiting PTSD Research with Easier ERP Access through IFEN Tools!

This important study from 1996 used visual event-related potentials (ERPs) to explore cognitive processing in PTSD, revealing heightened N1, N2, and P3 amplitudes to trauma-related images and delayed cognitive responses. With the tools developed at IFEN, accessing and implementing ERP methods has become much easier.

Now, this same paradigm can be used not only to assess emotional resilience but also to monitor treatment progress more effectively, offering new opportunities for improving patient outcomes in clinical settings.

Assessing Alpha Waves with Swingle's ClinicalQ: An Interesting Key Factor to Understanding Mental Health.

Alpha brainwave patterns, observed through the Swingle ClinicalQ assessment, offer a fascinating glimpse into how the brain transitions between relaxation and focus. By measuring brain activity with eyes open (EO) and eyes closed (EC), we can identify subtle shifts that reflect cognitive function and emotional regulation. A well-balanced alpha response suggests optimal brain function, while irregularities may point to difficulties in attention or managing stress. This valuable tool helps practitioners personalize neurofeedback and brain training for improved mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Do You Feel Afraid Because Your Body Trembles, or Does Your Body Tremble Because You Feel Afraid?

The James-Lange Theory proposes that our emotional experiences arise from our perception of physiological changes in our body. For instance, when faced with a threatening situation, our body responds with physical reactions (e.g., increased heart rate, muscle tension, sweating). According to James and Lange, these bodily changes are not mere responses to fear; they actually cause the feeling of fear. In other words, you don’t tremble because you’re afraid; you feel afraid because you tremble.

This theory challenges the traditional view that emotions originate in the brain and then lead to physical responses. Instead, it suggests that the body’s reactions come first, and the brain interprets them as specific emotions. Practical applications of this theory include techniques like deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation for managing emotional states. And not to forget Biofeedback, which we apply very successfully in our Neurofeedback practice.

I am a provider for Neurofeedback devices an autor and a developer for Neurofeedback software and supplies. My whole life is about making people's lifes better and giving practicioners solutions for their work. EEG-Caps are one of the most used parts in the Neurofeedback process and so they are fulnerable in some parts. As I always prefered the structure of a net based cap we are dealing with ruptures of the foam rubber sooner or later. Of course you can avoid this by being gentle when it comes to pulling and use baby powder to reduce the mechanical burden. But there comes a time when a rubber gets weak and gives up. In this case you do not need to purchase a new cap or send it to someone repairs. No you can do it yourself - replacing a rubber is easy and with a little practice you exchanged the rubber in just a few minutes. In this video I show you we show you how to do it. This is for the Free-Cap and the Pamel-Caps which are based on the same same method and materials. We are proud to say that the life span of an EEG-Cap this way can easily exceed 2, 3 or 4 years.
