Tschüss in German means goodbye.🇩🇪👋🏽 Yesterday I said it to my last day of work — and the word carries so much weight.
When I first moved to Germany, I didn’t think I’d even have the chance to work as a nurse because it’s really hard for American nurses to find work. But life had other plans and opened doors I’ll forever be grateful for. Through the Army New Parent Support Program, I was welcomed into homes for visits and into playrooms twice a week for playgroup, walking alongside families as they navigated the earliest and most beautiful and ghetto days of parenthood. It was an honor to hold space, share resources, and celebrate milestones with so many parents and little ones.
I was also given the privilege of teaching the Comfort Measures Childbirth Education Class, the only childbirth class available to this very large military community. Over the past two years, I’ve taught nearly 1,000 expecting parents, helping them feel more confident and prepared for birth.
This wasn’t just a job — it was my calling in action. And most importantly, it was the fulfillment of my goal: to serve my community in a meaningful way.
Now, I’m stepping into the next chapter: finishing MIDWIFERY SCHOOL and continuing to support families in the field I love! So while I say Tschüss today, I leave with a heart overflowing with gratitude and excitement for the future! Thank you to the families who trusted me, to the parents who showed up with courage, and to Germany for giving me this chapter. My purpose has been lived here, and I’ll carry it with me forever ❤️✨
